Just watched this. Flesh.
Crap acting.
No storyline.
But naked Joe. notworthy.gif

Hmm, thats a bit harsh. I think its quite an effective, albeit highly stylised, little film - especially when viewed alongside the rest of the trilogy that Morrissey and Dallesandro made.

I've not seen the others.
Will let you know when I have.

Fair enough. Personally I'd say only the last one is a pretty weak film.
YORKSHIRE GUY
Just watched this.
Easy to watch, although not the best acting.
Bits of nudity.

YORKSHIRE GUY
Just watched this.
Nearly 2 hours long.
Quite a bit of flesh but not much cock on show.
The plot is a bit like Pam Ewing's dream.
It was just about watchable.

YORKSHIRE GUY
Just watched this. upset.gif upset.gif upset.gif

Same leading man as the last movie I reviewed.

Beautiful film. Highly recommend it.

YORKSHIRE GUY
Just watched this.
It was ok.
Guest appearances by Ron Jeremy and Chi Chi La Rue.
Supporting role by Debbie Harry. notworthy.gif

YORKSHIRE GUY
Boy Culture.

Not bad.

YORKSHIRE GUY
Just watched this.

Excellent.
Really sad too.

boogie_artist
Watched Vampire Boys the other night, it was crap.

You watch a hell of a lot of gay movies. Is it an obsession?

I've just ordered the seventh Boys On Film collection and Longhorns.

No.
I get 4 DVDs a month from my DVD rental club. But I want to rent ones that won't be shown on TV, so the ones with a gay theme are a safe bet.
I like other movies too. But they get shown on TV.
angelfan
Well I watched Longhorns last night. Not bad but not great either. The strangest thing about it was it was advertised as the Uncut version so a lot of the deleted scenes (in the Extras) were actually in the main feature.
YORKSHIRE GUY
Some are better than others in these.

Not as sexual as the trailer suggests.

YORKSHIRE GUY
Just watched this.
Sensitively made Brazilian movie about two half brothers who are very close as chidren.
And very very very close and very very very hot as young men.

angelfan
Seen both of the above. Actually now on volume 7 of Boys on Film. Volume 6 was the one I liked the least but all of them have some good stories (and some great ones too).

Interesting, for me personally Volume 5 was by far the weakest release, there were quite a few on the Australia/Pacific one I liked. I'm looking forward to Volume 8 this year, which I think will be the first to feature all British films.

Well I thought I'd prefer the clean shaven one as I don't like face fuzz but I thought the one with the face fuzz was actually sexier.
YORKSHIRE GUY
Is it wrong to want both brothers together? paperbag1.gif
YORKSHIRE GUY
Watched this a couple of nights ago.
It was just about what you'd expect of this sort of movie.

angelfan
Not Another Gay Movie was really bad but had some hot guys in it.
YORKSHIRE GUY
Boys on Film -Vol 4.

This one was excellent. Loved nearly all of the movies.

YORKSHIRE GUY
I killed my mother.

French.

No nudity.

Pretty good.

Watched 'The Trip' a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Great storyline with some interesting footage from the anti-gay American era of the late 70's. Fit leads too biggrin.gif

The Trip on IMDB

Another thing, not strictly a recommendation but I didn't know where else to post...

Has anyone heard of a French gay flick called Notre Paradis?

Heard about it a while back (it came out towards the end of last year in France) but nothing since, I assume it's not yet (?) available over here?

For those interested click this link for some info and caps smile.gif
(warning, it's slightly dodgily translated from French)

Shock to the system.

Watchable gay detective movie.

There's a few others in the series as well thumbsup.gif

I watched:

Donne-moi la main aka Give Me Your Hand

and was bored out of my mind. The director was trying way too hard it make it an arty movie. He should've paid more attention to the storyline...

I quite liked Give Me Your Hand. Maybe it was just because I thought the twins were hot (although I actually preferred one over the other).
I quite liked this one too, although I openly admit it was a lot due to my fondness for the fit twins. The violent scene at the end (being cagey to avoid spoilers) was really well shot though, I got properly on the edge of my seat!
YORKSHIRE GUY
Just watched this.

It was fun.

YORKSHIRE GUY
And this was ok. Fun, but not brilliant acting and the storyline was predictable. Not as much nudity as you'd expect but there was some near to the end.

berenger79

There is clearly something near to the end there YG.
YORKSHIRE GUY
Finding North.

Was ok.

YORKSHIRE GUY
You should meet my son.

Predictable but fun.

YORKSHIRE GUY
I wasn't keen on this. Le Clan.

The narcissistic and obsessive behaviour of three brothers, who have an ineffectual and often absent father and a recently deceased mother, underlines a constant sense of impending crisis as they each strive to preserve the tenuous threads that bind their fragile lives. Sexy French superstars Nicolas Cazalé and Stéphane Rideau ('Presque Rien') star in this epic portrait of simmering masculinity and its impact on a struggling family living in the shadow of the Alps.

No me neither, I saw this recently too and wasn't that impressed. I thought that Salim Kechiouche was fit though!
sleepyrabbit
Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but I just watched Weekend (2011, directed by Andrew Haigh) and it was pretty darn good.
Not a lot happens in it, but very well written, acted and had me engrossed.
The 2 main actors in it were also hot, especially the guy who played Russell!
YORKSHIRE GUY
Just watched this.
A must for anyone who is particualarly interested in black gay history.

YORKSHIRE GUY
Just watched Jitters.

Enjoyable Icelandic coming out movie. Had a 'Skins' feel to it.

I agree, I thought this one was pretty good as well. It bit disjointed in places and seemed to lose focus the longer it went on but the ending was pretty effective thumbsup.gif
YORKSHIRE GUY
20 centimetros.

Spanish movie about a narcoleptic pre-op transsexual hooker.

Had an Almodovar feel about it. smile.gif

YORKSHIRE GUY
Parting Glances.

Not good.

Kev
I loved Parting Glances. It was one of the first films to deal with AIDS plus there's Bronski Beat music.

Weekend

Lovely smile.gif

Glens laugh made you want to melt.

Not your typical movie perhaps but good
YORKSHIRE GUY
Fashion Victims.

Brilliant. German comedy. Hot leads too.

I loved that, one of my fave recently viewed gay themed films, have you seen summerstrom as well (not sure if thats the correct spelling)
Nosferatu
Yeah, "Fashion Victims" is absolutely brilliant thumbsup.gif
YORKSHIRE GUY
Amnesia - The James Brighton Enigma.

Watchable.

darker_phoenix
So I watched Beautiful Thing. It was nice and all, but not mindblowing or anything. Shirley off of Eastenders was the best thing in it by far, she's a cracking actress.

Wow. We don't agree on movies too often.

I put that down to us having different tastes. thumbsup.gif
YORKSHIRE GUY
East Side Story.

Watchable - despite a few indifferent actors.

Kev
I've seen this a couple of times and it's a cute film. The two leads are gorgeous.
YORKSHIRE GUY
XXY. Currently available on BBC iplayer.

Latin American drama about an intersex teenager, looking at how her family deals with her condition and the decision she has to make as she explores her sexuality.

YORKSHIRE GUY
Before Stonewall.

This trailer contains an interesting clip of Ronald Reagan.
