Personally I take issue at the definition of the sub-forum being there for the purpose of wanking over pictures of celebs. That may be what some people do (fair enough), but others (like me) just enjoy the pics - or not as the case may be. Admiring a young mans body doesn't necessarily mean that you have to be beating away like a mad thing. To me, the likes of Tom Daley, 1D, Justin Bieber (of whom more below), etc are not sexual objects, but they are (at times) beautiful.
Ok well you might just be admiring their beauty but I think the main purpose of the for view is people wanking over fit guys

Yes it's a ghastly picture, but if the 6th comment about it isn't being mean then I don't know what is. Then again, maybe you're right - that comment wasn't necessarily mean, just plain ignorant.
Using that thread as an example to get back on track, I really don't care a hoot about Justin Bieber - I only really know of his existence through this site, and most certainly wouldn't care tuppence for his music. He may (or may not) be a nasty little thing in real life, I don't know - and neither does anyone else here on the boards, unless we know him personally. I can understand the obsession with him - it doesn't take a lot of thinking through - it's plain ordinary marketing, simple as that. The same trick worked with Boyzone, the same trick is happening with 1D; if you go back far enough the same technique happened with The Monkees! But to describe JB as a 'tone-deaf, pre-pubescent prima donna' is both inaccurate (at certain levels) and simply rude. It is this kind of thing that, frankly, I think the forum could do with less of - and I do apologise for pointing the spotlight at this one example, but it's just one of many, many similar remarks across the 'view' board. So if I look at a thread in view and don't really have anything to say one way or the other, I don't comment. When I do comment, I try to make it positive; rudeness is never becoming of anyone. I like to think us gays are a bit above that kind of thing.
The comments might be being mean and rude but they're are being mean and rude to the person in the picture,
who will never see it. And not the poster who made the thread.
If someone wants to say Justin Bieber is a pre-pubescent, primadonna then they should be allowed to do so without people having a pop at them and their personal lives, and the OP having a breakdown and never posting again.
Its not against the rules to dislike and voice your disliking of a celebrity, but it is against the rules to slag off a member of the forum. Which is what most of the backseat mods and keyboard warriors end up doing.
Also the last sentence, aside form being a sweeping generalisation, really doesn't befit the major stereotypes around gays. Bitchy, catty etc
