It's a very strange and bold move to premiere the whole season at once. Looks like it will all set up for the movie, as Jonny C said hope it's worth the wait.

Well they wants to it like a "boxset" type thing. They know their audience will just want to watch them all within a few days. Also, each episode doesn't follow on from the previous one as with previous seasons. I believe you will see the same events throughout the season in different character's POV's

I feel like I'm the only person in the world who didn't "get" this show (even though I'm sure that I'm probably not the only one -- after all, it was cancelled due to a lack of viewers originally -- it still feels that way sometimes). I remember thinking that it was incredibly dull and not the least bit funny when it originally aired, but I've been thinking about giving it another chance, since it's been a few years and I might find different things humorous now.

Of course, I also tried to give Louie multiple chances, but I never found it to be the least bit funny, either (and it seems to get similarly rave reviews). Perhaps I just need to amend my definition of a "comedy" to a more modern definition, like "a show" instead of "a funny show".

Serious question -- do fans find Arrested Development to be funny, or do you just watch it as a character study? I realize that we all like different things, and that the show could simply be something that's "not my thing", so to speak, but I'm genuinely curious about whether this is one of those cases where something is being improperly marketed as something that it's not really trying to be.

I guess it just depends on your sense of humour, everyone is different aren't they?

For example I know some people who find Big Bang Theory hilarious, whereas I think it's a big pile of shit.

It's all just personal opinion in regards to your sense of humour.

I've just started watching this show on Netflix - I've always been aware of it but have never watched it before. It's absolutely great, plus Jason Bateman is rather handsome

I just finished episode 3. I'm loving it so far.
I only joined Netflix today to get my 30 day free trial to watch this. I'll cancel it after that. Very unscrupulous of me .. just like a Bluth

You should consider keeping it. There's a lot of really good stuff on there. And if you aren't US based there's now a few increasingly easy ways to unblock the US content.

The new episodes have been great so far. Apart from that odd watermark joke that doesn't really work.

The joke is supposed to be that they stole the flashbacks from pirated versions of the original series.

I finally got the joke upon watching ep 2.

Ive watched three now. The first two weren't particularly amazing, but still had occasional moments of hilarity. Ep 3 was a definite improvement, mainly thanks to Tobias.

I don't know if I like the new each character having their own episode format. I'm missing other characters like Gob and Buster too much.

Hopefully gonna start watching these tomorrow.

I'm really enjoying it. Some of the weaker episodes seem better in hindsight with all the story threads coming together towards the end .. kinda like the first 3 seasons really, you pick up stuff you missed with each re-watch .. so season 4 must be re-watched
My favorite episode was probably Maebe's.

I've seen 4 episodes, not really impressed so far. I don't like the single character per episode thing, and the flash backs to 8 years ago, and it's not as funny or entertaining so far. I have heard it picks up after the first few episodes though.

edit: Watched episode 5 - the Tobias episode, and it is by far the best and funniest episode yet. Much much better than the first 4 episodes.

I think it all depends on which characters you like or don't. I wasn't a particularly big fan of episode five because Tobias is by far my least favourite character. I do however really quite like each character having their own episode.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!

I found the Tobias episodes the weakest too but I love that character.
My biggest complaint was how little Lucille was used, sometimes it seemed young Lucille had more screen time .. and sorry Kristen Wigg but you're no Jessica Walter.
The third episode was probably the one I struggled most with but I think that's because Portia's lovely face has been, uh ,modified

Thought some episodes were better than others but the loved the whole thing. Portia's forehead was so distracting though. Still laughing at the "anustart".
