Anyone else wish there was a chat room on this site? Would be nice maybe?

Is the whole forum not like a chat room? Premium Chatterbox certainly feels that way sometimes. Plus there's the PM system for sending messages back and forth. Okay, so maybe it's not as quick as a chat room but it does a similar job.

ALL we do in there is chat, occasionally things get a bit serious when needed, but... All we do is chat

It's not a chat room, but people are popping in and out all the time and you can have conversations in there, even make some decent friends

A "chat room" allows one-on-one real time private chat.

Seriously. In the times of skype there really is need for that?
You can always go oldschool and resort to MSN if the chit chat thread is too public for you.

Surely there must be tons of chat rooms on the web to fulfill tightbumlovers needs or do they not exist nowadays?

I remember the days before chat rooms ( ) and we had these telephone dating sites. You could post an ad in a gay newspaper designating a voice ad in a certain mailbox at a dating site phone number. Readers reading the ad would call the number and enter your mailbox number, listen to your voice message and then leave a response with callback information if they were interested. Some guys would get scores of messages in their mailboxes, too many to respond to. So they would pick and choose who to call back. Apparently I got a lot of callbacks. They later told me that it was the sound of my voice that they liked. The downside was that there were no photos to trade (this was before the internet) so you had to screen as much as possible before deciding whether or not to meet the guy.

On one occasion, on actually talking with the guy on the phone, I realized that it was someone who I had once worked with.

Parsy: "Is this Bill M....?"
Bill: ... silence ... then: "Who is this?"

There used to be one on the predecessor site (ezboard), I think.
