Just thought I put it out there.
I don't actually find it a bad as I thought it would be.
I find it like...nothing. It's totally generic and unremarkable.
When Rihanna came out with "We found love" at least it was something new.
This is even more dull than "Give ma all your luvin" but just as weak a comeback single.

dixie
Why do I get the feeling that Calvin Harris wrote this, offered it to Rihanna, she turned it down thinking it wasn't good enough so Cheryl comes in and snaps it up?

It will no doubt do well for her, though not on the levels of her previous success without the X Factor behind her, but her voice just isn't strong enough for me to be able to pull singles like this off, it just gets lost in the beats and sounds pretty generic.

Totally my thoughts.
Jonnycondom
your post made me laugh Astron,

"I find it NOTHING, GENERIC, DULL, UNREMARKABLE, WEAK"

and yet in there you say, "I don't actually find it as bad as I thought I would"

make up your mind lol_2.gif
Astron
That was my point. I thought I would find it bad but I don't, I don't feel anything about it. I didn't mean it like I think it's good.
Jonnycondom
You don't find it bad, but you find it weak, dull, unremarkable and generic?

dude, those words are connotations for being bad, you make no sense, weirdo bleh.gif

(the song is really bland ain't it?)
Astron
Yeah maybe I phrased it wrong. I just meant I don't find it shockingly bad or adherent or a rape to my ears, just forgettable and dull.

If the song does nothing for you...then why bother posting, lol. Atleast post something you actually enjoy. You know what I find generic.. people posting stuff to stir up a debate or because they know the topic will create feedback. I'm sure a Cheryl fan on this board would have put this vid out there, lol. Don't start making out that Rihanna is original. She's just as manufactured as Cheryl, 'We Found Love' is no different from the other generic dance pop songs from the 90's. Atleast Cheryl aint sniffing white powder of a guys head, lol. At the end of the day everyone knows Cheryl aint got the voice of a diva but she's alot better than some of the trash out there. People lap up a boyband singing 'Chasing the Sun' imo that is more dire than this song. Cheryl gets to much stick. She is a singer afterall. Hopefully she'll get back to singing pop, once this dance phase is over. It's alot better than Leona's 'Collide'.
Astron
I can post whatever I like and I wanted to hear what people think.
About the song not about posting topics.
I wasn't even particular nasty about it so get over yourself.
Jonnycondom
Also to be fair, nobody is lapping up the new Wanted song by the looks of it.
Astron
I haven't even heard about that song til now and I don't see how it is even remotely relevant.
blake2108
This is total Meh. Tulisa's is better.

And I don't mind the new Wanted song, but it's not their best.
Astron

It's better in the way that it creates a strong response.
Even if that response is trashing the radio with a big hammer.

Is that not the whole point of threads on a discussion forum? lol
ilovesidney
I find it very meh!! Nothing great about it very dissapointed sad.gif
saintly_boy
It's not a terrible song but it's nothing special and she doesn't have the voice to make it more appealing/interesting.

It also doesn't help that she's jumped on the electro-dance bandwagon about 3 years too late.

Oh well, at least she has her looks.

The point of threads is to share your interests with other users on the net. Just odd that someone would waste time starting a topic about a song they couldn't give two hoots about.

lol that's rich coming from you. Perhaps you should get over this song and listen to something you actually like.

Just like 'We Found Love' is so relevant. It's not like Rihanna actually writes her own music, Calvin wrote the majority of that song. Besides Rihanna is at the stage where she can release anything and it will sell well despite the quality of the song. Have you watched any Rihanna live performances, she's no better than Cheryl.
Swimmer88

Have you not watched the AOL sessions with Rihanna?! She has a stunning live voice (when not running around on stage)
Astron
QUOTE(Chris=) @ Apr 20 2012, 22:30) *

You're right. It's totally not relevant. It's not like it has also been done by Calvin Harris, is the same style of music and overall sounds very similar to this.
No wait...
I really don't get your problem. People don't seem to like this song. Whether on here or on other forums. Even if a Cheryl fan would have posted it first (and even if I'm not a fan I do actually like some of her songs) the outcome would have been the same.
So as I said , get over yourself. Don't take your frustration about her releasing a subpar comeback single out on me or have you not noticed that you didn't actually say what you think about the song apart pointing out that there are apparently so many worse songs.
So please stop derailing the thread and get back on topic. smile.gif
Chris=)
Sorry my mistake for thinking this topic was all about attention seeking Astron and how he likes to have his ego stroked. Obviously too much time on your hands to be posting shit you don't like. You and the minority of the population who bitch on forums hating on the song, doesn't reflect the overall view of this song. This will be proven when it charts.
dixie
Didn't people say the same thing about The Flood?

But give the girl a chance. Though I think it's a mistake keeping the release of the track until June, or releasing the song this early to radio. Recently instead of people getting excited for the release they just get bored of waiting for it when it's all over the radio and music channels for weeks and it doesn't have the impact they hoped for. Especially with the album release the next week, loads of people will just wait a week and get the album.

Is this your first time of meeting our Astron? lol_2.gif
MOOO
Sounds quite generic and bland. Even worse than her last comback single.

It will probablty get to #1 thought then plummet down the charts

Having been front row for her, she is terrible. Completely.

I really like the new Cheryl song though. It will do well regardless of what people think. She has a good fan base and radios love her. As do I.
alansmith:)
I don't think I'll ever understand her popularity, she's never struck me as a genuinely nice person and she proven by this song, she's not a good singer at all.

Sure, she's attractive I see that but to me that's all there is.
slayersw
My friend has met her quite a few times, and I have other friends in Bradford who are friends with Kimberly Walsh from when they where in Stage 84 together. They have been to a few parties with Cheryl and she has always been lovely. To me, she come's across really likeable.

She may have been sacked from X Factor USA, but she got the last laugh by getting a lot better reviews than Nicole.

I have a lot of love for Cheryl, but I get that she's not everyone's cup of tea, I just enjoy her music, and i'm also a Girls Aloud fan boy haha.

huh.gif
She could only have the last laugh when she starts her own casting show which is so successful that the X-Factor closes down.
Whether or not she gets better reviews than Nicole is irrelevant to Simon Cowell (who axed her), even if he wouldn't have axed Nicole by now as well.
Not to mention that Nicole is still a much bigger global popstar than Cheryl Cole.
Chris=)
Oh Astron she is more beautiful and richer than you'll ever be, I know it must suck but you seriously need to get over it love and move on. it's May now and your still bashing out the same old hate, lol.
slayersw
Tbh Astron, I didn't post to get into a debate. I just wanted to put my opinion across without feeling the need to bash others to do it... Just saying...
Astron
Didn't mean to bash you either. Apologies hug.gif
ilovesidney
Video is actually really good.. Song is catchy! But the charts is just full of this!

The pop scene needs refreshing!

Really? Because I reckon most of America has forgotten Cheryl existed whereas Nicole is still a household name. Also the X Factor in general was somewhat of a flop stateside.

Can we discuss how amazing this performance was. Her dancing. WOW!

Astron
QUOTE(britney_OC @ May 26 2012, 23:50) *

Can we discuss how amazing this performance was.

Are we not aloud to point out the irony of miming on a show called the Voice? rolleyes.gif
Her dancing was good though, I give her that.
Chris=)
You'd only say how awful she was, had Cheryl sang live, so she can't win. Surely the outfit was the most hideous thing. I bet Astron has pre-ordered the album, he loves Chezza.
sexyy1010
I was the first to state that when I first heard it I thought it was terrible.

Its grown on me a lot though.

Her dancing on The Voice, SHARP.

dixie
Her just going by Cheryl does her no favours. It just doesn't sound right.
Benzai
"I would say to just don't forget, why you came to the show!"

And yet 10 years on from Pop Stars The Rivals, we're miming because obviously her voice wouldn't let her live the dream.

Not surprised to see Danny's "i'll not be clapping if you're miming" shit didn't last, the big bastard sheep that he is.

As for the dancing, if it wasn't for the fact there was 20-odd people doing the same thing it would look like she had ricketts.
Astron

I don't actually but I also don't hate her like you make it out so desperately.
You're just annoyed cause you know I'm right.
Cheryl is pure mediocrity, only in the public because of the men she clings to (Cole, Cowell,, I. Am.) and that will never change.
I like a few of her songs (fight for this love, parachute, promise this) but this is all you can hope for with Cheryl the odd decent pop song every now and then.
Just take her for what she is and stop pretending she is an uber star that will ever set the world on fire.
CherryBoomBoom
Promise This and Parachute are terrible.
Astron
I liked them.
3 Words was atrocious.

The only one who seems annoyed is you. The majority of your comments regarding Cheryl are negative. I love how she ruffles your feathers.

Don't talk silly. Cole, Cowell and Will.i.am weren't even in the lime light when Cheryl made her tv debut auditioning on Popstars the rivals. The public voted for her to become a member of Girls Aloud, she's had a fanbase for over a decade. Miss Tweedy was a gorgeous girl, with a sexy accent, ofcourse she was gonna turn heads. She didn't go out to find a loverat. Lots of celebs date other famous ppl. The media love a good scoop and they've had plenty with Cheryl. No young woman wants to be divorced. There's no doubting just how popular she was in Girls Aloud. So when X-factor had a revamp it was no surprise that they asked Cheryl to be a judge. It was a great platform for her to launch a solo career. She turned down Simon's offer of going back to the reality show. So this desperate persona you create of her is untrue. But in your eyes it's ok for Rihanna to slut her way to the top, talk about double standards.

Lol the odd decent pop song, you could say the same about most artists, who have good lead singles but poor follow ups. Obviously you adore Cheryl and have great expectations of her, she's only human, sorry is she doesn't meet your listening standards.

QUOTE(Astron @ May 27 2012, 09:55) *

Well I'm glad you think that she isn't capable of being an arsonist. I've never put Cheryl on a pedestal, certaintly don't go around thinking she's another Whitney. But what she is, is a gorgeous girl who sings good pop songs.
RugbyPeach
Really catchy track - like it much better than her other singles. I wonder if she'll join the GA reunion now that she's established herself as an act in her own right.

She's contractually obligated to so I'd say yes.
