Full Version: Copying from my DVDr to an external drive to play on my WD media player

At the moment I copy from my DVDr to a blank dvd and they I have to recode it to play on my WD media player. what I want to know is is there a way that I can copy straight to my external drive and play it on my media player (WD) its just that its such a long winded process and I feel that I miss some of the quality after I have recoded it, so can anyone help with this, thanks a lot bbuk

Did you ask about this before a few weeks ago....If not someone else asked a similar question and I seem to recall answering ...I think the answer was " I doubt it "

IU asked a couple of questions about my WD media player but not this, but thanks for the "I doubt it" reply. will just have to use the "conventional" way

I know .It's a pain .I wish I could do the same ...so it's continuing converting to something else like avi or mkv etc

Do you know I forgot about that post, it was when I had my old media player (NOT and HDMI one) and I have bought a new one and wated to "start afresh" but forgot about that post - sorry about that and it seems that my dvd ripper was money well spent. thanks for replying bbuk
