What are you most looking forward to next year in the gaming world?
Mine can be summed up by two names:
Mass Effect 3 Wii-UHere's a Wiki of all the games that are due, or meant to be due, next year.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Upco...eduled_for_2012Animal Crossing and Prey 2 and BioShock Infinite.

Urgh I still have to catch up with games from 2011, I'm actually glad Wii U aside there aren't that many important announcements yet.
So yeah Wii U definitely for me.
Yeah, the next game I want to buy is Resident Evil: Revelations and that isn't until the very end of January... So I have a month to finish things

But to be honest, I may not get it at launch... Too many games to finish.
I also have lots to catch up with, but I do look forward to
Sorcery, which is not included on that wiki page. The trailer looked amazing but it's already been postponed a few times, I think.

I'm a bit dissapointed that there are no titles I'm looking forward to, in comparison to 2011 where there were so many games that I was eager to buy. Lets hope a few more titles get announced!

Oh hey Charmed, nice to see you using a picture of me as your avatar
Luigis Mansion 2
Nuff said.
Skyrim DLC... can't wait to see what they do!
Tekken Tag Tournament 2, it should be released sometime in 2012, hopefully.
The new Tomb Raider looks interesting. And maybe Bioshock Infinite.

Omg:
Tomb Raider
Hitman: Absolution
and maybe
Mass Effect 3 if I enjoy ME2

I love the Olympics games that come out, even though the Beijing one was a little disappointing, I'm hoping the London one will be better, so am looking forward to that.
Tekken Tag 2 will be cool, and I am Alive sounds like it could be fun.
I keep on saying it, but I really want to expand my gaming horizons. After I graduate and am inevitably unemployed, I figure this will be the perfect time to do this.

Mass effect 3 is the game i'm most looking forward to. I might even go crazy and buy it the day it's released, instead of being a tight arse and waiting for it to be reduced.
Isnt Final fantasy 13-2 released sometime soon? I'm going to give that a look. I don't want to give up on the final fantasy series but if this game isn't an improvement on FF13 then who knows.
The last guardian is another i'm interested in...though i have a strange feeling im going to be disappointed with it.
I can't get excited one bit anymore about FF.

Maybe with XV when they create a whole new (better) world.
Final Fantasy seems to be dying a slow death. It's incredibly sad.

I've never been able to get into that series anyway, so it's no love lost on me.

Stuff I'm looking forward to in 2012:
Mass Effect 3 - yay!
Syndicate - I played the original, back in the day! Not too sure how the switch to FPS will go though. Have to see how the reviews turn out.
Diablo 3 (I assume it will be sometime this year... maybe) - looks awesome!
Starcraft 2: HoTS (Also assume it will be sometime this year) - was always a starcraft fan. Also I'm waiting to find out if Kerrigan is still the Queen B. of the universe, or is now just a vengeance obsessed crazy superwoman.
Edit: Re FF Series - I think it was one of the defining RPG games of my generation, and it represented a style of play which I don't think exists outside of Japanese games. I still remember the key moments of FF8... awesome storyline... but I havn't played anything from FFX onward (no PS3). It'd be sad if there weren't quality successors to carry on.

I think one of the reasons why the final fantasy series has gone down hill is because of the amount of final fantasy games that are getting released.
Isn't final fantasy Versus out this year as well? Arn't they also re releasing FF14 again, seeing as the other was such a failure.
I remember when one final fantasy game would come out every 3 or 4 years. Now we are constantly getting all these spin offs. The makers should just concentrate on one game.
Oh and i'm also looking forward to far cry 3

I thought FF XIII Versus had been killed. Has there even been any news for the last two years?
I agree with that but also the change of style which started in 12 and continued/worsened in 13. It's just not the same anymore.
I refuse to believe the classic RPG genre is dead though.

It's just sleeping.

On September 11, 2011, it was announced that Final Fantasy Versus XIII had entered full production. During a weekend’s fan Q&A session, Yoshinori Kitase said: “Type-0 and Versus XIII have of course advanced to 100% development power
But i got that from good old Wikipedia, so i'm unsure with how reliable it is.
They changed the names from some games too so maybe that's it.
I don't have the overview anymore either, there're too many games in the pipeline at SquareEnix.
FFX is getting a remake now as well, apparently a full one not just HD paint.
FF9 remains the series' best and I will not hear anything otherwise.

You are harsh.
I actually don't mind 8. It's proper under-rated and lost in the mass love for 7.

Was IX the one with whatshisface (Tidus? The 3D-soccer player guy)? It all becomes a blur...
I suspect the "best" FF game for most people was the first game they played.
At least that's my theory for the under-appreciation for FF8. Which is the best FF game

I loved 7, 8 and 9 equally. I do think 8 was underrated though! Shame what the series has become these days, used to love spending many an hour with an FF game.

So is there like anything coming out this year anymore?

well, we have Res Evil 6 I suppose, and I guess the Wii U if it does come out in November.
Halo 4 on 6 November
I just checked and I did mention Sorcery in this thread, which comes out this month (but I already started a thread about it)

Did you ever play Binary Domain Ic1? I notice you listed it on your last page of games you wanna play. That's what I'm playing right now. It's good fun. Not exactly doing anything new or different to other similar games mind you.

Want another? The reboot of Devil May Cry is now pushed to 2013, too!
See, I don't mind pushbacks really, as long as it means more spit and polish and also means that Noctember is less crowded.

Perhaps they're expecting everyone to be buying the Wii U this holiday.
Or adding extra time to include it within their formats.

So now we are halfway through the year, what has been everybodies favourite game of 2012 so far?
My vote definitely goes to the amazing, adorable, charming and frustratingly addictive Fez

I can't think what would come second
ME3 I guess, closely followed by The Walking Dead: episode 1
I don't think I actually played a game from this year yet?
I have "Last Story" and "Pandoras Tower" which came out this year but have yet to play them.

I've played Mass Effect 3 solidly from its release on 9 March to the start of the Euros. So a good three months. That's all I've played from this year. Unbelievable.
Looking forward to Borderlands 2 next.

A skilled man like myself doesn't need a console to play whatever game I want, the game just plays itself whenever I look at a tv. (I have no idea)
I still can't believe none of you PS3 owners have played Journey.

I was waiting for the Collector's Edition to be released on Blu-ray but it doesn't look like that's going to happen so I'm just going to wait until it comes up in a PS+ sale. /cheapskate mode
It's on my list.
