I have over 3,700 emails in a little-used Googlemail account I have!

Please someone tell me there's a 'bulk erase' facility?

As 99% is spam, is there a way of putting a stop to it all??

Is there any way to delete the account?
PadSpin
Not really as it's an address I like.

I think I've sorted it though it's time-consuming! shaky.gif

I accessed my gmail via thunderbird using imap then I did a mass delete of over 4k emails.

I think I found that the only way to do it was to Click ALL on the drop down menu at the foot of each page and then click DELETE ..It does take ages though .

But does that delete them from the GMail account ( and not just the TBird account) I also use TBird and delete e-mails but they are kept on my GMail accounts ( which is helpful in case you need to go back to look at something)

When you click the box at the top that selects all the E-mails on that page, a box appears at the top of your inbox saying something along the lines of "All 50 conversations on this page are selected. Select all 3700, conversations in Inbox". Click that and it will select every e-mail in your G-mail inbox, regardless of what page it's on. Then you can click delete and they'll all be gone.

Clever you ..lol...I've not noticed that before but then I don't delete from my Inbox ..I only delete from the Spam when I look for mail that shouldn't be there .

If you use pop then emails deleted in thunderbird will stay on gmail. If using imap then emails deleted in thunderbird will be deleted on gmail.
