Good stuff FoR

.
I'm glad that Mini's abs had their night to shine, even if the Blues didn't win

.
As for Dave Taylor, I bumped into him in the city yesterday. I'd just gotten lunch and stepped out of the restaurant and Dave was just walking past up towards Queen Street (he was either getting lunch or getting his hair-cut). I'm surprised he wasn't mobbed, there were *so* many Maroons jerseys being worn in Brisbane last night as I was coming home

. But you know how I recognised it was Dave? He was wearing those insanely bright boardies, bless him

.
Some thoughts on the game.
1. Yay!
2. No dackings onfield, but more than enough shirtlessness in the sheds. I'm sure Cooper was sans his jersey in the pre-game Maroons footage, but isn't he always?
3. There was some feeling to that. Hayne and Slater came together a few times, and even Gidley (who is normally the sweetest, nicest guy) got angry in a few places. On Hayne, I think he was easily one of their best players (and I'm glad he did a great job in the centres). He scored twice, broke the line a few times, and had a great combo with Brett Morris. Which -- again -- begs the important question of why Ricky didn't pick him in the first game.
4. Yay!
5. I couldn't watch Thurston hurt his knee, although channel nine replayed it enough times

. Poor bastard. And hopefully that won't hurt the Cowboys (who are a top 4 team this year), but it'll have to have some effect. I thought it was sweet at the end how they wheeled him out and all the Maroons came over and gave him a cuddle. When Cameron Smith hugged him right at the end, it looked like JT was sobbing onto his shoulder. I don't blame him, I was getting a bit teary-eyed then, but y'know, if you want someone to comfort you after a serious injury, Cameron Smith would be high on the list

.
6. Justin Hodges had a quiet night, but he was still recovering from his injury, and he had a good night without being re-injured, so I was happy for him. It's probably for the best he had a quiet night, given the carnage Inglis was causing on the other side of the field.
7. Locky went out with a win. I *was* worried, particularly the last five minutes of the first half, but the champion fought for a happy ending and they got it. That was more important than the 6-straight thing, you know?
8. I love you Gal, but those calls *didn't* go against you. Inglis was playing the ball, and given he couldn't magically evaporate, it was nobody's fault but your own when Mini stepped to the wrong side and gave Cameron Smith room to scoot over the line. Hell, Hannant had a try disallowed that's been given in a heck of a lot of club games this year. That's a little irksome, people complaining about QLD's reaction to their loss in game 2 while the Blues react in the exact same way. It's like, no.
9. What happened to Michael Ennis? I mean, I still think he's kind of a tool, but he just vanished halfway through the first half.
10. Yay!
