Why on earth are the gladiator's pics so heavily altered?

In most of his poses you'd be seeing some genitalia and they've removed it, if they weren't prepared to show this in their magazine why didn't they just take poses which wouldn't have had it on display anyway... like the rest of the pics from the others.
