Whether they mind or not, it is still using their resources. Unless they explicitly state that people can do this then freely (and that is VERY different from not being able to find something saying that they object), FMF could never suggest people do it, as FMF would then be encouraging bandwidth theft.

They don't "explicitly state" that we can do this, but they do provide links at the bottom of photos for you to "share" them.

Also, the "image badges" linked to on my last post is a concept set up by Facebook for users to share photos on external websites. It would seem to me they are not only more than happy for us to do so, but in fact encourage it...

Please add <IMAGEHOST-BLOCKED> to the Not Recommended list, as when I clicked on a thumbnail on here and went to their site for the full size image, I got a spyware warning that Adware:JS/Pornpop.A was on my system. The infection definitely came from their site because the cleanup report showed the file name of the page with the image on it as the source of the infection. The adware displays pop-under ads for porn. I drew attention to it in the thread also.

EDIT: D'Oh! It's already blocked! Probably for the reason I mentioned. Never mind, sorry.

I'm going to say that even though they are recommended on the front page Photobucket appear to be rubbish. I posted images in this thread yesterday:

Photobucket was showing bandwidth exceed in under 24 hours. furious.gif
The images are now upped to another host. As you can see they are not that large. They are not even remotely controversial/explicit. Yet gone in under 24 hours under Photobucket and people asking for resposts in the thread.
To be honest I've seen the Photobucket bandwidth exceeded in other users thread but you'd think they'd last longer than 24 hours.

I really don't think they should be 'recommended' if that's how quickly the images disappear.

Previously uploaded Uploadit content was available for around 4 hours yesterday (9th Sep 2011). Access to the website for uploading was not though.

I've not given up hope yet of it's re-appearance.

Does uploadit.org work for everyone now? It's been working for me for at least the last 24 hours but other users say they can't see the images.

UPDATE: 24th Sep

Okay it seems after returning for a few days uploadit.org is now totally dead. I got a lot of complaints in the last thread I posted that the images weren't working about a day after I posted. Even if it does return again briefly I think it's too unstable to use with all the downtime it's had over the last month.

I use imgur and over the last week I have been getting extra images with DNS made easy included when I try to upload. ANyone know whats going on here?
