This is a list of webhosts that work well and don't work well with picture posting on fmforums.

Please add your recommendations and non-recommendations as replies and I'll use them to update the lists.

uploadit.org
If you can stand the slow webpage based interface. The paid for option allows up to five simultaneous uploads and 'upto 2,000 stored images' for $9.99 (PayPal payment method) per year.

photobucket.com
Works well at the moment. Bit prudeish though - nudes will generally be removed.

NOT-RECOMMENDED

2and2.net
Works but bandwidth limit is so low that pictures will be red crosses in a matter of hours

webshots.com
Not viewable for majority of users

froggypic.com
Times out when server busy

imageshack.us
Blocked by host. Doesn't work at all on fmf.

photobucket now gives 100gb free traffic a month , i would recommend them! they are the best

I've removed photobucket from NOT RECOMMENDED then. We'll see how it goes.

Unfortunately froggypic seems crap when theres a lot of traffic, so pretty useless for us.

I really dont recommend photobucket, i uploaded 200 or so images, within a day those pesky "bandwidth limit exceeded" messages were cropping up.

how long ago was this though ? they have upped their bandwidth limit to 100gigs , i upload 100s & 100s of pics every week and i never go over the limit now

use photobucket , they have a 100gig bandwidth limit , that should be plenty

Apologies about Tinypic.
It came to light when someone viewed an old post in VIEW GOLD and Tinypic had replaced the images of scantily-clad men with someone's baby photos.
Obviously this put us in a position where we had to stop people using them.

I found photobucket excellent. I uploaded dozens of pictures at one time fairly quickly.

For the gentleman who had trouble with photobucket:

Just enter an album name on the left and click save. Then click uploads and you can browse your own PC or Mac.

I know ladsnet has this as recommended and remarked about the slowness of the download but is it getting worse?
Apart from the fact that the pics take forever to appear, more often than not recently they often don't appear at all and we just get the redx! Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm still using photobucket and always have. Posts I made ages ago still download instantly although again as previously pointed out you cannot post nudes as it's against their rules. That said I've never had a problem with my posts in relation to bandwidth.

Not that I know of.

Because the images are remotely hosted I can't get any stats from the fmf servers. It's just a case of noticing by eye what people are using.

Don't know if there is anything similar for International users, but I signed up for a free photobucket pro account by using the partner offer with Credit Expert. (from the photobucket site)

Just needed to give a credit card number for the free trail, and as long as you call Credit Expert before the end of the 30 day trail there are no charges.

My photobucket account was upgraded within minutes of signing up for the trial offer.
