Bob Hoskins has announced that he is retiring from acting, after being diagnosed with Parkinson's last Autumn, to spend more time with his family. The 69 year old was nominated for an Oscar for his lead role in the 1986 film Mona Lisa which also won him a BAFTA and Golden Globe. But it is likely to be the still absolutely brilliant Who Framed Roger Rabbit that remains his most widely remembered work. Depressingly it seems his final role will have been his turn in the dreadful Snow White and the Huntsman.
