So, call me paranoid. You, your computer, your ISP, and your IP address are all tied at the hip. Anywhere your mate goes or whatever he downloads or uploads are recorded against your net info. A guest account of any nature doesn't void this.

simple option, have you considered Winzip? Correctly used, winzip offers some pretty hefty strength encryption. A decent length password would keep you safe from the beadiest of beady eyes

Just make sure you read the docs though as some encryption methods can still reveal the filenames even if they can't be opened
