Hi, a friend of mine is gettin married and on the invite card there is a barcode you can scan with a smartphone. It then directs you to their website. Can you do this for free through a website or can anyone let me know a website that is cheap yet good? Many thanks!

Would that be a QR code rather than a barcode?

It stands for Quick Response code.

They work on similar principles to barcodes, but look more like squiggly abstract patterns than the neat lines on a barcode.

If it's one of those, I'd google the question. smile.gif

Here's a website for them.

If you want to print your own business cards, you can create the QR codes on this website.

You can even create your own vCard, so when people scan the qr code, they'll have all the information you included when you created the qr code and they'll be given the option to add you as a contact to their phone(which is great for business cards) thumbsup.gif

I've used a QR code as an avatar on here for a while. Another website with video examples can be found here smile.gif

It's obviously a typo, the OP meant to type 'barcode' rather than 'bardcode' and even then he really meant QR code instead of barcode
