I moved out when I was 20. I was lucky enough to buy a place due to some inheritance after one of my grandparents died.

I'm almost the same. I don't own my home. But it was my Grandma's house.

My folks bought it for her, so she could come to live in our village. She only lived here for 6 weeks, before she died. I was at uni then, but my Mum didn't really want to sell it - mainly 'cos she'd bought lots of new carpets, and had it painted for her. So she kept it on for me.

I think if I wanted to move away, Mum & Dad would probably just rent it out. This is really why I want to buy a place of my own...

After coming home from uni, bought my new, unbuilt house at 22 but it wasn't built til I was 23...(only a couple of months)

Since I moved out, my parents moved, so if I visit home now its not to the house I lived in, so feel very much a 'guest'!

Jumbler, I'd still buy a house now as I'm pretty well paid I suppose.
But it was quite cheap when I bought it.
And I had 3 jobs then.
37 hours, 25 hours and 6 hours per week.

^^ There you go. I know some guys who actually work that many jobs. And I still don't think they could afford it either.

Is it the same house you live in, can I ask??
