I'm thinking of getting an iPad 3G through their refurbished program to benefit from the savings and just wondered if anyone had any good or bad experiances with the refurbished products? I know it's got a years warranty so it's 'covered' as such, if it did break, but is it worthwhile to begin with!?

I've not directly bought any Apple products refurbed, but loads of other things and they've almost all been great. They have turned up looking pristine and box fresh and I like to think that they are actually likely to be more reliable than something straight out of a factory cause someone has actually taken the time to check it properly before sending it out again. Most refurbs are just cause someone has changed their mind and returned something.

Shall keep this in mind, thank you very much smile.gif

Must admit though, with all the iPad mini rumours I've held off for the moment!

When my iPhone was damaged it got replaced with a refurb on out-of-warranty. The new hardware was crap, always slow and always hanging. I would be inclined to blame software if it weren't for the fact that I did a proper restore and was like that from the day I got it when the previous handset never was.

It hacked me off so much in the end that I turned away from iPhone and defected to Android.

I would therefore (purely on my own bad experience) not recommend refurbs.
