This fairy tale craze needs to fuck off and die. Not one thing that's resulted from it has been any good and I don't hold out much hope for this.

They probably want it to be a summer blockbuster and because they can't get it ready for summer 2013 they pushed it for another year.
I mean that's what people did with Harry Potter didn't they? Pushed it for a year even though it was already filmed only to have a film for the summer.

I dunno Mr. R probably knows.

I haven't been following production on this at all but if I had to guess I'd say its probably been delayed because Disney already have a very crowded release slate for 2013. They've got Sam Raimi's Oz: The Great and the Powerful pencilled in for March (and its somewhat similar to Maleficent) and the Johnny Depp led Lone Ranger for July. Plus Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 from Marvel and Monsters University from Pixar in June and I suspect there will probably be a Disney animation released as well at some point.

Maleficent has to be one of my favourite disney villains, she turned into a freaking dragon :')
However, Eleanor Audley's voice made the character somehow, be interesting to see this new take on the character and with Jolie playing her. Her last few films haven't been up to much.

I was mostly referring to live action stuff but I can't say I've been overly enamoured with animations more recent attempts at fairy tales either. Hopefully Brave will change that.

I'm really excited for this. Everything about it is appealing to me. Pity we have to wait so bloody long though. Christ, I wish they'd kept it quiet until this time next year.

And I love Angelina. Even when she's in a shit movie, she usually shines. She gets a lot of stick (granted, she is a bit cooky) but I like her.

Maleficent was the best part of the show! This film will be AMAZING. I cannot wait!

I watched Sleeping Beauty last night just for old time's sake. So good. Maleficent wasn't in it nearly as much as I recall though. She's still a nasty bitch though.

Also, her skin wasn't very green in the movie, it's just very very pale. For some reason I thought it was green. Odd.

It was weird, but watching the film there were actually lines in it that I could just picture Jolie delivering. She's the perfect choice for this.
