The best drama on television returns to US screens is a months time.

If you aren't watching you should be.

Starts in the US tomorrow.

The first two episodes are (predictably and reliably) brilliant.

Can't wait. My favourite show. I have no doubt it will go out on a high but damn I'll miss it sad.gif

I tend to wait until mid-season before I start watching. That week wait is pretty brutal bleh.gif but I think I'll start straight away this time.

I'm pretty dense when it comes to award shows but it seems that the show isn't eligible for some of the bigger awards a lot of the time. I hope that isn't the case this time. Bryan Cranston deserves some shiny biggrin.gif

It actually offends and upsets me that not more people watch this show.

Just got round to watching episode 1 now. Brilliant as expected.

Can somebody please nicely remind me of what happened to Ted in the end of the last season? My memory has gone completely blank on that.

Slipped over on a rug and faceplanted or summat. He had tuff guys in his house.

I'm being careful here because I'm an episode ahead but...

Really enjoyed the opening two episodes. As I mentioned above they're both fantastic. What I've found really great about the opening of the season is the indirect spotlight they've shone on Skylar's character progression. I think her evolution and change flew under the radar a little but the first couple of episodes of the season she's been put face-to-face with it and its been really interesting.

Loving more Mike this year as well.

Both Mike and Hank are great characters, so to watch that little interview scene between them was amazing tv.

I think Skylar is going to break eventually and may succumb into telling the wrong person the wrong kind of information.

So many great moments of dialogue in this weeks ep,

"He probably threatened someone before breakfast"

"shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!! SHUT UP!!!"

There's a lot of bald people in the show I only just noticed.

So let me get this straight, we get 8 episodes this year and the final 8 in 2013?

Given Walt's change of character up to now, I'm thinking he might end up getting killed by Jesse by the end of the series. I think he'll get worse and worse in his personality until he makes everyone want him dead. Perhaps even Skylar.

So with episode three we get a full force Walt the manipulator. The scene where he talks Jesse into dumping his girlfriend that plays out as something close to fatherly advice/concern was a pretty fantastic.

And whilst I do it every week I think I once again need to marvel at the development of the primary characters of the show. Particularly that when you consider that all this has taken place in about a year within the time line of the show. Walt, Jesse and Skylar in particular are almost unrecognisable from the people they were in the first season. Its really rather astonishing.

Also just a word on episode endings. Episode one and two arguably ended with implied rape (episode two in particular) whilst episode three ends with Walt not so subtly threatening to kill Jesse, Mike or both.

Oh I definitely think it's just Mike he was threatening to kill at the end. I think he genuinely likes Jesse now (sorta)

What I love about this show is how every week there's always at least one truly amazing scene which features such amazing acting, drama and tension that it reminds me how great a television show can be. The three way scene between Walt, Jesse and Mike with the money was this week's for me, but everything else is just as astounding alongside that, and that's why it's so criminal nobody else watches this show. Sucks to be them.

I think your wrong about that (on both counts).

The only personal conversations the two have had for a while now have been all about Walt manipulating Jessie to do what he wants – help kill Gus, help bring Mike into the business, dump his girlfriend etc. Look at his complete non-reaction to Jessie telling him he'd ended his relationship. I think he sees Jessie as a resource to be used rather than a friend. He poisoned the guys almost kid to get him to do what he wanted and then manipulated him into cutting said kid out of his life. The threat I think was levelled at both Jessie and Mike. Walt knows the two are close and that potentially they can cut him out of the business if they want to. Jessie can cook and Mike can run the business.

The scenes between Walter and Skyler this week were incredible particular the one upping argument regarding how to keep the kids away from Walt. The shift in the dynamic between these two over the course of the shows run has been pretty epic and after being relatively so-so on Skyler for most of the series I'm absolutely loving her this year.

I do wonder whether Walt is influencing Jesse or whether Jesse is attempting to influence Walt. Getting Walt a gift, and previously breaking up with his girlfriend.
