I wonder how much the BBC pay for this. It's entirely unnecessary IMO with it being so close to Wimbledon.

It's enhanced secondary rights, so not much in the scheme of things. Main rights holder is Eurosport. BBC rights cover Singles only, with limited network coverage and only on Centre court, without renegotiation on a match by match basis.

In addition the equipment requirements are minimal as the court coverage will be coming from the Eurosport cameras.

One issue though is the player list, because of the complications with the Olympic Tournament, some players have chosen to drop ATP250 events this year, Queens is one of these, therefore the entry is weaker than normal. If this continues next year there's a reasonable argument for reconsideration, although I feel that we'll be back to 'normal' entry next year.

.... turning all bad for the tournament's viewers today

Firstly Andy Roddick gets KO'd and then Andy Murray gets beaten.

I'm gutted about Roddick, not so much about Murray.

Its not a bad thing really, its giving other people hopefully up and comers more of a chance and experience.

I think its hilarious.

Tipsaravic has gone out too. Nalbanian is the only seeded player left.

Dimitrov has caught my attention, I like his style of play and he is good looking.

Luckily Tsonga seems fit for Wimbledon. Dimitrov has a great chance today.

There was a rumour going round that Dimitrov has been dating Serena. Not sure how true it is though.

Dimitrov on court now vs Nalbandian, to find out who'll play Cilic in tomorrow's final. First Set one game all, in terribly gusty conditions, both serves broken in the first two games.

.... and that's that.

Nalbandian struck out, and a line judge got injured, code violation, default, Cilic wins.

A couple of points about this . Firstly what's the point of those "boards " round the linesmans chair ..secondly Rules Are Rules so I guess that DQ was inevitable ....thirdly is about that Andrew Castle .. ..OK the linesman got a nasty cut on his leg which I am sure hurt like buggery for a wee while but he walked off albeit with a limp but Castle made it like the guy had broken his leg or worse .You should have heard the guy ..talk about Pomposity but then that's tennis all over isn't it . It's not as if Nalbandiam meant to hurt the guy..he was taking it out on the boards and probably expected them to be a bit more resilient than they were and then when Nalbandian spoke and complained about the ATP that was another excuse for them to go off on one ..Castle and Barker and Lloyd ...and Barker telling the crowd to Shooooosh when speaking to DN ..lol

From one of Britain's leading Juniors on Twitter ...

Just seen replay of the Mishap in Queens final. Ridiculously stupid thing for a seasoned pro to do

from ……..

TWITTER.COM/LIAMBROADY
17-Jun-2012 @ 21:45

Further thoughts ....

As for the BBC Coverage of it, I thought it was OK, pretty much an unprecedented situation, which they winged well,

They couldn't carry on with much more discussion due to their restricted rights.

It did look at first that the injury WAS serious, thankfully it was not.
