Just recently when watching video clilps i've noticed that after a while the picture will flicker then shut down. Only to be replaced by a grey background with a small circle and an exclamation mark in it. This seems to happen about every half hour or longer. Any ideas guys? Thanks in advanvce

Some more info would be nice. Watching videos on your phone, PC, Mac...???

Videos on youtube or using windows media player or some other program.

There are way too many variables to attempt a reply to your question.

Sorry, should have added Desktop, windows xp, I find that if i exit the offending window i can go back into it and it's fine for a while then it happens again. I've seen comments on the internet about it but it's all too technical for me. I was hoping for a simple fix.

Just from reading online, it appears to be a problem with Flash player not releasing memory correctly and basically running out of system resources over time.

Do you use the PC heavily for flash content?

Makes sense, from what I could glean online it's only become an issue with the recent versions of flash - if the file isn't coded in a particular way flash player doesn't seem to release the memory when it's finished with it, and just goes on to grab more and more until you get this screen indicating you're out of system resources.

I've not experienced it myself, but I don't use a lot of flash sites... maybe the odd fb game and a video or two. What RAM do you have, might be worth upgrading as Adobe don't seem to be doing anything about this issue.

Thanks again. I've got 2.87 GB's of RAM but now you've narrowed it down to a problem with Adobe (and i'm not going nuts) I'll get on to them.

Well best of luck, the support forum is littered with posts about this issue, and Adobe seem to be doing very little about it other than advising content developers how to code so that it doesn't generate this problem...

All well and good, but it does nothing to remedy the issue for the existing content already out there.
