Okay I'm not gonna say I won't watch it cause that usually doesn't work but lets just say so far I don't have the intention to. With the mediocre mess that was last year and the return of Gary - the cunt of Britain - Barlow there isn't much that appeals imo. (apart from Dermot obviously. wub.gif)
Though I might check the auditions to see what it's like and then....get hooked again and ...well let's leave that for now. rolleyes.gif
However I tried to start an X-Factor thread the last couple of years and always someone was quicker so at the very least I get this out of it. biggrin.gif
Auditions start tomorrow in Liverpool with Gary, Louis and Tulisa returning as permanent judges and Geri Halliwell filling in as the first of a string of guest judges that will cover until a permanent fourth judge is announced (though rumours are stating Geri will be that permanent fourth judge)
None others are confirmed as of yet though and the usual suspects are being thrown in the mix from the Saturday girls over to Katey Perry all the way up to Rihanna.
The usual return theories about Cheryl, Danni and Sharon also won't quiet down as usual.
I'm sure given the last year ratings low and the arrival of the Voice we can expect even more "Shock Twists", "Surprises" and "Revelations".
Rules have already been changed as far as now acts who are already under management can audition. What sort of difference that will make other than they can orchestrate the whole thing even more and have an easier time to plan who will become a favourite to push and who plays what part in the show, I do not know.
Also Caroline and Olly will return as X-tra Factor hosts, even though Olly won't be there all the time as he is touring.

Let the Games begin!

Marvin from JLS had management when they were on the show from when he was in his previous group so they've likely been able to have it all the time, they're only letting it be known now.

Urgh, Geri Haliwell. Did they learn nothing from Popstars: The Rivals? Or her bland guest judge stint a few years ago, come to think of it. Hopefully she won't come across as desperate as she did back in the day when she was doing yoga and insisting on trotting out her dog Harry on every chat-show that'd have her and generally being a complete famewhorebore.

Apart from Alexandra Burke last year replacing Kelly I never really thought any of the guest judges stood out.
Katy Perry and Nicole Scherzinger were praised to no end but I just found them boring and dull. shaky.gif

I like Geri but I thought she didn't stand out at all when she filled in for Dannii.

I was hoping Rihanna would come as she's got great humour and honest.. Least we haven't got Britney (I love her btw just think she's abit dizzy wink.gif)

I really hope this series is better than the last I can't even remember who was on it!

I really hope Geri doesn't become permanent. I'd much rather have Mel B (or Avril or Gwen if you believe the rumours).

There's also talk of Rita Ora becoming a judge which is fucking ridiculous - nothing against her but she's been around for approximately 5 minutes.

I think that's just a rumour cause she is hot right now (see what I did there wink.gif ) , also she is probably too much of a rival for Tulisa.
Then again she is probably still cheap to get so you never know.

QUOTE(Jonnycondom @ May 22 2012, 23:46) *

Who the fuck is Rita Ora?!

Jonny, your going to see Coldplay in two week at Sunderland, shes one of the support acts.
Get with the programme, hahhahaha. What did I just say!?
Shes had one song out under her own name, Rita Ora which features Tinie Tempah and was written by Drake. Therefore we can only assume Rihanna throw out the song and Rita is chewing the meat.
She is also the voice behind Dj Fresh Hot Right Now, which had the rather cool video.

Anyways back onto the topic of X Factor.
I'm not really bothered too much at this stage.
Although what I am assuming is that Simon Cowell has taken some notes and opted into looking at artists with contracts.
Max from The Wanted springs to mind, he and his band were binned from the X Factor for having ties with labels.
What I hope it means is that won't be subjected to 45 minutes of a show laughing subjectively at vunerable people who are tricked into believing they can sing and 15 of people whom I would consider are 'the contenders'

The judges doesn't really matter in this competition. The show decides everything. They are just object and act as pantomime props.
Geri - blah, whatever. The replacement could be anyone and everyone (literally)

She sang "Hot right now" with DJ Fresh earlier this year and is currently number one in the charts with "R.I.P", her solo debut, 2 weeks running.
I liked the former song, can't stand the latter.

Oh yeah, I've unfortunately heard both of those awful songs at the gym. Jesus and one of them got to number one?

I can't believe she's supporting Coldplay, how odd.

Both of them got to number 1 I think. Can't stand them either. Total trash.

I always approach X Factor with a huge amount of hesitation. It's just not as good anymore. The judging panel is crap, and it's so tired. I don't give a fuck what Tulisa has to say about anything whatsoever, so that doesn't help.

Simon/Cheryl/Dannii/Louis or Cheryl/Sharon O would be my ideal panel. Actually, no Louis has to go too, but I don't know who would replace him.

The only person worse than Geri would be that Beckham bint!

I'm going to see the Manchester auditions on Wednesday 6th June.

I wonder if it'll be Halliwell or someone else?

And I'd never heard of Rita either!! blink.gif

One thing that annoys me the most about X Factor is the way they patronise their viewers (in more ways than one) but particularly in an attempt to top themselves every year with a NEW BIG TWIST that doesn't add anything.

I thought the whole thing last of people being kicked off at the first episode and then you get to vote one of them back in was a complete disaster. Then when halfway through they actually replaced one of their "home grown" boyband members with someone even more forgettable than the last.

They should go back to basics and realise that GOOD CONTESTANTS are what makes the show. My favourite series was by far the one with Alexandra Burke because there were actually lots of really good people and so it was usually a tough call to see you would go.

Fuck knows what they'll pull out this year. Gary Barlow and Olly Murs having sex on stage - now THAT'S a big twist I'd like to see. naughty.gif

Geri Halliwell is the first person to admit she doesn't have the best voice in the world, I think she still has a good voice, but she made great Pop songs, who would have thought that Tulisa Pop-a-whatever her name is would get loud screams and cheers than Geri Halliwell? Not me.

I hate all this guest judge shit. I'd rather they just pick someone even if they're a bit rubbish. Personally I need continuity. A judge will now get singers in their group who they didn't even see audition or get to vote on.

I can't believe that a show as big as this didn't have a shortlist of 3 or 4 potentials months and months ago, contracts all agreed and ready to go. It's a long stint and people are busy, I understand that but this should have been sorted a long time ago surely?

Whether he was holding out for Dannii or whoever else he had in mind, Simon should have had a backup or two on call ready to go.

I just can't get on board with guest judges at all.

Personally I think they need someone like Geri (maybe not her herself), who doesn't really have an agenda as such. I've felt with some previous judges, like Cheryl, Kelly and Tulisa, they could be too nice because they didn't want to damage their careers by being perceived as bitches. With someone whose career is seemingly behind them, but who has experience being successful in a group and solo, they could actually get a really good judge.

Given that this happens every year now I'm pretty sure it's all just part of creating a buzz about the show.
Pretty sure that if they wanted a 4th judge from the start they could manage to get one.
