Ads Ads Ads, Opted out but they are still appearing.. Options

So my boyfriend uses my laptop occasionally, which is fine.

Recently though I've been researching stuff for his birthday and now all the ad's that appear on websites are of what I wanted to get him which is going to kind of ruin the surprise..

I've gone to Google Ads Preference Manager and opted out, I've deleted history, cache, cookies, the lot, but they are still appearing. I've even turned it off and on again.

Any help would be amazing.

There is a facility called AdBlocker but not sure how effective it is...try Googling for it

I'm not sure it will work but the latest versions of IE, Firefox (and I think Chrome) all have 'private browsing' modes which ironically they advertise for your exact situation when blates everyone knows it's for porn.

This and it would work as it stops all cookies.

I guess that dogs do occasionally eat your homework and equally so you could use incognito/private/whatever for buying a present...

Could also use the opportunity to organise a surprise party...?
