Just thought I put it out there.
I don't actually find it a bad as I thought it would be.
I find it like...nothing. It's totally generic and unremarkable.
When Rihanna came out with "We found love" at least it was something new.
This is even more dull than "Give ma all your luvin" but just as weak a comeback single.

Why do I get the feeling that Calvin Harris wrote this, offered it to Rihanna, she turned it down thinking it wasn't good enough so Cheryl comes in and snaps it up?

It will no doubt do well for her, though not on the levels of her previous success without the X Factor behind her, but her voice just isn't strong enough for me to be able to pull singles like this off, it just gets lost in the beats and sounds pretty generic.

your post made me laugh Astron,

"I find it NOTHING, GENERIC, DULL, UNREMARKABLE, WEAK"

and yet in there you say, "I don't actually find it as bad as I thought I would"

make up your mind lol_2.gif

That was my point. I thought I would find it bad but I don't, I don't feel anything about it. I didn't mean it like I think it's good.

You don't find it bad, but you find it weak, dull, unremarkable and generic?

(the song is really bland ain't it?)

Yeah maybe I phrased it wrong. I just meant I don't find it shockingly bad or adherent or a rape to my ears, just forgettable and dull.

If the song does nothing for you...then why bother posting, lol. Atleast post something you actually enjoy. You know what I find generic.. people posting stuff to stir up a debate or because they know the topic will create feedback. I'm sure a Cheryl fan on this board would have put this vid out there, lol. Don't start making out that Rihanna is original. She's just as manufactured as Cheryl, 'We Found Love' is no different from the other generic dance pop songs from the 90's. Atleast Cheryl aint sniffing white powder of a guys head, lol. At the end of the day everyone knows Cheryl aint got the voice of a diva but she's alot better than some of the trash out there. People lap up a boyband singing 'Chasing the Sun' imo that is more dire than this song. Cheryl gets to much stick. She is a singer afterall. Hopefully she'll get back to singing pop, once this dance phase is over. It's alot better than Leona's 'Collide'.

About the song not about posting topics.
I wasn't even particular nasty about it so get over yourself.

Also to be fair, nobody is lapping up the new Wanted song by the looks of it.

This is total Meh. Tulisa's is better.

And I don't mind the new Wanted song, but it's not their best.

It's better in the way that it creates a strong response.
Even if that response is trashing the radio with a big hammer.

It's not a terrible song but it's nothing special and she doesn't have the voice to make it more appealing/interesting.

It also doesn't help that she's jumped on the electro-dance bandwagon about 3 years too late.

Oh well, at least she has her looks.

The point of threads is to share your interests with other users on the net. Just odd that someone would waste time starting a topic about a song they couldn't give two hoots about.

lol that's rich coming from you. Perhaps you should get over this song and listen to something you actually like.

Just like 'We Found Love' is so relevant. It's not like Rihanna actually writes her own music, Calvin wrote the majority of that song. Besides Rihanna is at the stage where she can release anything and it will sell well despite the quality of the song. Have you watched any Rihanna live performances, she's no better than Cheryl.

You're right. It's totally not relevant. It's not like it has also been done by Calvin Harris, is the same style of music and overall sounds very similar to this.
No wait...
I really don't get your problem. People don't seem to like this song. Whether on here or on other forums. Even if a Cheryl fan would have posted it first (and even if I'm not a fan I do actually like some of her songs) the outcome would have been the same.
So as I said , get over yourself. Don't take your frustration about her releasing a subpar comeback single out on me or have you not noticed that you didn't actually say what you think about the song apart pointing out that there are apparently so many worse songs.
So please stop derailing the thread and get back on topic. smile.gif
