You shouldn't really care about how successful a song is, as long as you like it that's all that matters surely? The state of the charts is fucking abysmal as it is anyway going by what gets in the top five these days. I know you're probably gonna say "but if he's not successful then he will get dropped etc" well boo hoo, if the guy has any genuine songwriting talent a smaller label will pick him up and he will keep going, no?
