QUOTE(sanitynotincluded @ Apr 30 2012, 22:04) *

Surely you're not that naive are you Sanity? Or do you just think we are? Lol, I really can't see any point linking an article from the Torygraph endorsing Boris, I mean its not like they would ever say anything else is it? The only time British newspapers can be logically used to illustrate a political argument would be if the Guardian turns blue or the Mail/Telegraph,etc turns red, otherwise its utterly redundant.

I'm assuming that you are sounding off without bothering to look at the link. Had you done so, you would have noticed that it was written by Dan Hodges, who worked for the Labour Party, the GMB and who describes himself as writing about Labour with a "tribal loyalty". (Or do you just think that people are too stupid to notice that it was in fact an article by a tribal, longstanding and comitted Labour activist, endorsing Boris.)

The idea that such a piece is invalid because it appears in the telegraph is irrelevant. That the grauniad or mirror would never carry it is telling about them, not the significance of someone such as Hodges rejecting Livingstone, something demonstrated by the fact that according to the polls, about one in five, even of those who voted Labour in 2010, were intending to vote against him.

An entertaining opinion by A. A. Gill, a contributing writer for Vanity Fair and The Sunday Times of London. (I don't know the writer so have no opinion about him/her.)

The Once and Future Mayor

He's a complete twat. The sort of person who thinks its ok to sneeringly refer to a well-known (lesbian) tv presenter as "a dyke" in one of his articles. shaky.gif

It deserves saying that numptiness notwithstanding, Paddick loses with vastly better grace than Livingstone or Jones.

It's a shame we won't get to see Ken preside over London's continuing multicultural enrichment as it strives for the title "beacon of Islam".

And Brian is just fucking hot. I wonder if he has an old uniform tucked away somewhere.

I'm trying to find out what happened to Richard Barnbrook. Did he not stand for re-election or did he lose his seat on the London Assembly to someone else?

I did a little research into my area and found out that the Conservatives have had majority control for as long as the district has existed. And they gained two seats this year giving them a 78% majority. The Lib Dems and Greens managed to get 4% of the seats each; Labour: non-existent. The biggest threat to Conservative dominance is the resident's association with 14% of the vote.
