On the plus side the opening group performance wasn't as terrible as the previews suggested.

Good opening 15 minutes (excluding the random ratio switch). And the first audition helped counter the too serious concerns as well.

Oh and age hasn't done anything for Sean from Five.

I'm quite enjoying it. It could do with some sharper editing and a bit more energy but I like it. And the coaches have gelled really well.

Disliking how many sob stories the UK version is using though.

Well it patently isn't all about the voice. People really are seriously deluded about that. Sure it's what puts them with one of the 4 singers, but after that their looks and sob stories become as much a part of it as any other talent show surely.

And going specifically for the premise that all that matters is the voice means that it'll automatically atrract people with issues.
