Personally I thought Grace's dad's reaction was incredibly and commendably realistic - shock and genuine grief.

I agree about Graces dad. I thought it was a genuine reaction. If my house had been trashed a bit or even burned to the ground, i'm not sure I would have given a toss if my daughter had just died.

One thing I thought was really cringeworthy (although they have to do it at least once every series) is the 'trash the empty house party'. I almost fast forwarded through it..

Tonight's episode was shit.

I like Liv more, but's she's such a slag.

Alex is fit and I totally would. But he's a freak. What happened to normal characters like in Series 1. They were all pretty normal.

And going to some dark place to cheat a Chinese man out of money, and then taking a boat out to sea to deposit ANOTHER dead person? Because that's what us 18 year old students do?!

See that cunt Luke is back next week too.

Yeah it was pretty average. Not really sure if I like the new guy. I agree with you Blake about just having a normal character. Why did they need to make him do all that shitty tedious stuff with the dice "oh my life is so wild and random woah" piss off.

The second half was definitely the better half. Liv really seemed to come into her own a bit. It was really odd that Rich wasn't there though. The new guy was unnecessarily horrible to that man he shagged. I can't really see what he will do for the rest of the series unless he does have a thing with Nick.

Wish Mini wasn't acting like such a bitch throughout sad.gif still adore her though.

Franky saying that to Matty at the end furious.gif it was your fault too bitch.

P.s the song they played at the end during the trailer for next week's ep is my fave song from 2011 w00t.gif

tis awesome

I miss good, funny Skins.

These days they just seemed to come up with as many ways to depress a group of teenagers to the point of alcoholism.
Its like every characters represents a different mental disorder or something.

I really liked that song and was wondering what it was called and who by?

I definitely think Skins has got more leftfield over time.

I suspect that's down to the success of Misfits.

In fact new boy Alex (how fit is Sam Jackson?) came across to me as a bit of a Nathan character.

BTW, does anyone know the actor who was playing the keyboards and singing at the Grace memorial event?

I thought he was quite cute in a geeky kind of way.

Hmm, I'm not really sure what I thought about it yet. On the one hand it was great to have a properly hedonistic character in Alex (arguably more so than Tony in series 1) and Fenella Fielding was great but a lot of it did seem lazy and repetitive. Personally I think the show works much better as a dark comedy with dramatic flourishes but I fear I'm in danger of getting repetitive myself here, lol. I think the major problem with "Skins" is the use of inexperienced writers, many of whom seem to just use it as an oppurtunity to put their own spin on old stories or experiment with form, which often doesn't do the series or the viewer justice.

Chris Ashby, recently seen shirtless in "Doc Martin".

I can't really say the trailer excites me. Just looks like one fat massive cliché of Franky "not being able to handle grief" so she becomes a slut and drinks a lot. And then of course all the violence, it's always Skins with the violence,

sigh

Not if you call me that name.

Ah you're quick. wink.gif

They just have the most retarded community ever. I was hanging around in their X-factor section for a few month and it gave me severe brain damages.

Do you not think hanging about in the X Factor threads for such a long time is retarded in itself?

Well X-Factor last a couple of month so it kinda comes with it. Anyway I stopped eventually so its all good now. smile.gif

Going against public opinion here I really enjoyed this episode. I don't even dislike Alex as much as I thought I would.
The way they introduced him into the gang was quite normal I thought, I feared they would bring him in like Matty, some cryptic pretentious douche who fixes everyone's problems in a heartbeat.
The dice thing was silly and unnecessary but I can overlook that.
I can see where Blake is coming from, when Liv as an alcoholic slut seems the most normal in your cast you have a problem but tbh. this was the first time I liked Liv and can relate to her a bit. I still think she overreacted to the fact that Alex hasn't told her that he's gay after the incredible long time of 2 days. rolleyes.gif
I liked the storyline with his grandmother and was actually a bit sad when he found her dead. Throwing her in the sea was unrealistic and would actually have severe consequences but again I can overlook that.

I liked the way they handled the grieving bit. I can understand both Mini and Liv.
Liv just wants to go back to normal cause she can't handle the loss while Mini wants the opposite, she doesn't want life to go on as if nothing happened. Both is relate-able imo.
Having Rich away was a good move. As I said before having someone die is just too much of an impact on someone's life especially Ron Rich as her boyfriend. It would be unrealistic to have him as relatively calm and collected as the others and if he would have lost it it would seem weird to not make the episode about him.
So his absence was a clever way to get around all this.

So yeah nice episode and Alex seems like a good edition to the group after all.
I still don't want him to shag Nick but I noticed that even though there already have been plenty of parties and drunken sessions we didn't see him with any girls.
Are they trying to make us forget he's a complete man-whore to make his coming out more realistic? unsure.gif
He seems so much hotter than last season though. drool.gif
Sadly it's still 3 weeks until his episode, but he seems to be featured a lot in Frankie's episode by the looks of the trailer.
Bring it!

I don't get why so people hate this series so much... I'm loving it, I much prefer this generation to the last anyway, I'd rather another series with them to be fair, I'l miss almost all of them.

Oh but Alex, what a fucking addition, I'm in love. drool.gif

Series 5 had a lot of problems, but I don't think I hated it. It improved a tiny amount as it went on. Definitely the worst series out of all of them though, and I think the nation agrees since the viewing figures halved from series 4.
