Is the House of Commons always that noisy?
Every time someone posts a clip from the HoC the noise level resembles that of a soccer/football match.

I've always loved watching debates in Parliament. It's just so lively.

And yes, we in the States can watch the Parliamentary debates.

Aye it is. Don't forget that there can be up to 650 people with big egos and gigantic gobs in that one small chamber lol_2.gif

You have to understand that many (most?) MPs today are professional politicians: So not only do not appreciate what a week's wage is for Joe Public; but they don't realise that jeering/shouting like they're at a pantomime or Punch & Judy, when they are supposedly having 'debates' on matters of national importance, also makes them look like tossers to Joe Public. wink.gif

I guess that's one step up from the Indian parliament where they throw shoes at each other and engage in fist fights (which was also common in the US Congress in the 19th Century).

True enough lol_2.gif Fights occasionally break out in the Italian p'ment too. One happened recently in fact...

Makes our Punch & Judy spectacle look quaint in a way: Given the hierarchy of our main three parties are clueless and barely any different in ideology, the best they can do is bitchy point-scoring lol_2.gif I always like this spoof from the 1980s, of a Commons debate...

^Not far off reality these days-- as ever reality outpaces satire wink.gif

Whoever fudges the best; or whoever comes up with the 'best' ad hominem comment or best soundbite. Heaven forbid they conduct and win debates on merit of substance wink.gif
