i've been digging through my cstrecords collection looking for stuff to share with my squeeze and stopped and became enthralled with the album that this is from:

they wont be to everyone's taste for sure, but holy crap it's good. if you dig on experimental-ish post rock, you'll love it.

There Will Be Fireworks has also released a new EP and it's an absolute heartbreaker.

They're both good songs FOR thumbsup.gif

They both have a certain, ambience?! about them.

Anyone interested in picking up the album by that band First Aid Kit who everyone is banging on about at the moment? Here is a song from it..

The other day I finally bought one of the older albums by The National "sad songs for dirty lovers". It's very bleak, but brilliant none the less. Here is a favourite of mine from the album..

and whilst I'm at it, I'm assuming you've all heard the brilliant new Radiohead song?

The Daily Mail single was pretty neat, but the Supercollider one was awesome.

OK Jonny since I said I would.

I'm not listening to a lot of new stuff at the moment tbh, in a sort of new year malaise music-wise. The Trailer Trash Tracys may have been mentioned already, but it's the only new stuff I've heard that's above 'meh'. It sounds a bit like Anna Calvi passed through a Cocteau Twins filter.

first off:

The Shape Of Things To Come (by) High Skies

found this wonderful EP from a song used on an iPod game would you believe! (the game's called Osmos, and it's pretty neat)

lastly!:

my top 10 list thingy: http://hotgogdamn.tumblr.com/post/16902865...-albums-of-2011

just in case anyone wanted to read.

oh man I fucking love The Twilight Sad! Thanks for the heads up FOR that their new album is out on Monday. I remember that song from Osmos when I played it thumbsup.gif

John, really love that song. When I listen to it I feel like I'm entering the hipsterist bar imaginable and I look cool as fuck. I guess it also sounds like it could soundtrack a really mellow moment of my life where it's 2 in the morning and I'm sat in my room really drunk wondering where it all went wrong. Either way, I like it.

Cheers for that top ten FOR, a few albums on there I've never heard so I'll check them out. I remember Rocky Raccoon mentioning that he loved the We Cut Corners album so now two of you praise it so, I should really make the effort to listen.

As it's the start of February, I'm just going to sum up all my favourite albums from January, just incase there's anybody who dips in and out of this thread looking for new good music to buy. (I'm looking at you Boogie)

Listen to these four..

Django Django - Django Django
The 2 Bears - Be Strong
First Aid Kit - The Lion's Roar
The Maccabees - Given To The Wild

here's a song off the first album which I absolutely adore..

I was reading an article in "Clash" magazine the other day which listed ten songs from artists we should be looking out for in 2012. Most of them were pretty average.

These stood out..

LOVE this ^

Apparantly the album by Beth Jeans is supposed to be really good, ain't heard it yet though sad.gif

Oh Jonny do you get Narc Magazine? I hear its produced in the North East? I'm thinking of subscribing as its only £20 for the year.

I do pick up a copy when I see it yeah. It's free up here. It's okay, I don't think it will be worth 20 quid imo. I've got the latest issue here. If you want pm me your address and I can send you this copy to see what you think of it?!

And you've picked two excellent albums there to listen to.
