Her non-familial wealth was explained away as a result of writing travel journals about her finds. Plausible or not, I'd rather suspend my disbelief than be in control of the Countess of Abingdon. Fah.

The first three were just amazing.

The third one was so hard though! If I remember correctly you couldn't save it whenever you wanted, and you had to collect "saves" which I think were blue triangles. Dastardly bastards. I remember the third game started with you sliding down a big slope.

Aye, India - the slope with the spikes Antarctica was a hellish set of levels. Loved the depiction of London. The area boss was so intriguing but got so little screen time. Such a shame.

Aye, TR4 was one of the best TRs imo, though it did debut the WORST voice actor for Lara in the series. Though new, whiny Lara may yet steal that crown.

Germany got a new voice for Lara with 4 as well.
It was a good one though, the voice actress went on to give her vocals for all future games and even in the movies.
Hmm...she'll be probably replaced now as well.

Have either of you Londonders been to the British design exhibition at the V and A?

They have a little section about computer games. On the wall they have a big screen split into three showing off three different Tomb Raider games and how she's progressed through the years.

Tis nifty.

I think Tomb Raider 4 was my fave. I liked that Lara fucked up and unleashed some dark mojo on the world. It was a bloody tough game though and some rounds were confusing. You could walk between areas and end up in a new level, take two steps to the right and be in another level. That go between levels to solve a puzzle was kinda cool but kinda strange.
Hated her voice too and young Lara was a bit of a head wrecker.

Yes, until September I think? Gotta pay a tenner though, but I found it worth the money. Just don't go in there with huge high hopes for the computer games, it's only a tiny section in a large exhibition.
