Awww, I loved TR2 biggrin.gif still own a copy but it's a bit dodgy with the PS3's backwards compatibility. I have to load up TR1 to the Sony blurb at the start and then swap the disc for it to work. TR3 will always be my fav though smile.gif

Are Legend and Anniversary any good? I was tempted by them on the Playstation Store yesterday...

I'd have loved an Anniversary-like remake of TR2 too, I have very fond memories of whipping around venice on that speedboat...

This trailer was cool n all but I'm with Astron on none of it feeling very 'Tomb Raider'. I'm not into it being a prequel, I'm not into it being all survival-horror...and I don't like her hair bleh.gif

Tbh I think Im just gutted about them jettisoning all the good work they did with the last 3. I was so excited for the follow up to Underworld sad.gif

I actually thought Underworld was pretty great for the most part and I don't really know why it didn't get more love.
I think there were loads of things in Underworld (even if they took their cues from other franchises) that were a great evolution of TR's original concept. I thought the physicality was really tangible in a way that really captured the first game's USP- the climbing and diving and just barely making jumps....the sense of and exploration & feeling of solitude were back as well (Not to mention some of the 'moments' like flying your bike down that collapsing trap thing? Frackin EPIC!).

Its baffling to to me hear that the graphics were a problem on the PS2- on the PC it looks pretty stunning. Coastal Thailand was like running around in an animated movie (& that opening level? The fire?!)

It just needed a Mansion (& maybe an extra outfit change or two) & it would have been perfect...for me.

Oddly Tomb Raider II seems to be the only game not currently on the Playstation store... unless I'm blind and missing it.

I'm might check out Anniversary and see how things go. I feel like I should probably play some Tomb Raider with the new one on the horizon...

Wow that was impressive. It does look kind of like an interactive movie though but maybe that's just the opening segment.

All very impressive but also quite a few elements of Uncharted with Lara Croft.

I have hope - I've stomached too many poor TR games. At least this one seems to have a bit of polished production behind it.

Cinematically, it looks very impressive, but to me it just doesn't look like a Tomb Raider game sad.gif

Hopefully they will show off another segment of the game which has her exploring a huge beautiful underground temple or something..

This. Except replace 'exploring' with 'jumping around, grabbing onto stuff' in

Would anyone know what I meant if I said it looks like a game you control with your keyboard & not your gamepad? Like that 'guy grabbing her leg' move that happens a couple of times there, its not like an in-game fight its like a quicktime event.
I'm comin back to that physicality thing again but I play cinematic games e.g The Force Unleashed & they have amazing environments with a level of interactivity...but with a Tomb Raider game I want to flex my virtual muscles lol.

If this was 'Kate Austin: The Game' or something I could be very excited about it. Its just not what I'm lookin for with Lara...as far as I can tell 2nd hand from the first 5mins bleh.gif

Considering the fact that the last few have been rushed out the door half-baked, I'm actually glad this has been delayed. Who knows, maybe this one will actually live up to the hype for a change!
