Okay inspired by the recent thread were steven7942 was looking for a song, all those memories from when I was a teen came back and what great songs were around at the time.
I have a very varied music taste but Trance was a big deal for me growing up (I personally think it was at it's prime mid 90ies to early 00ies).
I'm still very much into dance music (I call it that cause I'm shit at identifying the different subgenres and all) though proper Trance doesn't seem to be around that much anymore.
Anyway any fans of the elctronic, beat heavy music genre? smile.gif
I start with 2 of my all time favourite classics.

Not a huge fan of dance music, but I love these dance/electro remixes a guy on YouTube does of some Kpop songs.

A few of my favourites:

Darude - Sandstorm

ATB - 9PM

O.T. Quartet - Hold That Sucker Down

And more recently:

Tiesto ft. Christian Burns - In The Dark

Darren Styles - Holding On

Darren Styles - Girls Like You

I don't tend to listen to that much dance music anymore. When I was 14 I was really into it though, but since then I've kinda gone off it and its usually just the odd track or two that catches my attention. Also, when I was in my first year at uni I did really love Funky House (and the clubs in Liverpool were great for that) but that genre seems to have died out (or at least moved on) now.

Right now I really like Darren Style's music, which is about as heavy as it gets for me. I'm probably more into electro/dance pop than electronic/dance music itself although I still enjoy remixes of songs from other genres - my favourite right now being the Moto Blanco remix of Janet's "Make Me" (which I prefer to the original R&B track):

Recent trance imo sounds dated and over-produced. Nothing can top the 90s in terms of true innovation and style smile.gif

I am personally a massive house/techno fan.

I'm just reading Peter Hook's book at present about the Hacienda, so I have downloaded a couple of compilations of house and dance music played in the club. It's hit and miss, but there are some real tunes in there.

808 State, Charles B & Adonis, FPI Project etc.

True Love Never Dies (everyone thinks this is Kylie but it isn't).

Spente Le Stelle (yomanda remix)

Silence (Airscape remix, much better than Tiesto's version)

Some really nice additions there, good to see there are some fans of the electro music genre after all. smile.gif

Okay time to get a bit more current and relevant.
Like how have we not have a thread about this song yet, it was number 1 for ages:

I like it a lot but could have done without the dance breaks I think they're ruining the flow a bit.

I also heard this song for the first time just today:

It's no "When love takes over" but then again what song is? wub.gif
Instantly like it though, could be a nice summer track. thumbsup.gif
