Now here's a game to look forward to! Still such a long time to wait, yet so excited for it already. It looks stunning. Hopefully it will be even greater than Oblivion, looks like it might be biggrin.gif

IGN Skyrim preview

It's due for release on 11/11/11.

The 11th of bloody November?!

Oh they so better not be doing that just because of the 11.11.11 thing.

Never really got into Oblivion.
Played it for a bit but the first time I had to go into 'Oblivion' kinda ended it for me.
The talking to people was quite annoying too.

I loved Oblivion too and never did more than Kvatch on the main quest. The Dark Brotherhood was well fun. Can't wait for this to come out, got rid of my PC so will have to get it for Ps3 x

Oblivion was just too much for me.
Too much freedom, too much to do and too many items thrown at you and no guidlines at all.
I like exploring a world but seems like I need some limits.

I was reading that the third person view actually looks like he is making contact with the ground now and not merely floating above it as in Oblivion lol_2.gif lol_2.gif way to improve, yo.

To be honest, I'll probably get it you know, but maybe at a later date because Mass 3 is likely to be out around then and I will be in a coma state once I finish it.

I didn't like Oblivion for the following reasons:

Characters with dead eyes and no souls and did nothing.
Clunky combat.
Boring-ness.
Scary amount to do.

But all my reading about it, which I do do even if I say like, "omg that's well shite / PS3 sucks manky bums".. makes it sound like my main issues with Oblivion have been sorted.. re: scary amount to do...The quests and that have seemed to be made much more streamlined this time.

See you always have a go at me when I do say things like that. Not fair.

As for the game given that my issue with it is very unlikely to get solved, probably made worse in fact, I'll give it a pass.

haha, aw, I wasn't having a go at you.. I was just saying that, when I do say something negative or critical, it's usually well informed and used an example.

What was your issue with it?

Too much freedom (I stated that earlier in this thread) it's just overwhelming.
I like a big world to explore and lots to do but within minutes the game throws so many things at you and gives no guidelines whatsoever.
Like in the tutorial already you max out your storage and have to leave behind/throw away items before you even get to know what they are for, this is even made worse when you reach the first town. And then there is so much you can do like breaking into a house but no matter what you either get killed by entering or leaving the house. So do you need to level up first? Are you not supposed to enter the house just now? Will it even be possible to enter the house at a later stage again?
It sucks because if you can enter the house why can't you do anything about it? Leave it locked for friggin sake if I'm not supposed to enter it just now.
I like doing things when I get the option to do it.
[ Like remember the lamp you get in the beginning of FFVIII? If you use it a fight against Diabolos starts, normaly at this point int the game way to hard but I leveled up for hours so I could defeat him the moment I got the lamp. Thats just the kind of gamer I am. wink.gif ]
Things like that annoy me and that is just one of hundreds things you can do in the first hour already. I like it when a game starts slow, eases you in on the basics and then lets you loose on the world. Like Dragon Age for example and that didn't particularly had little options of what to do from the get go.
This is just made worse by me prefering to complete a game 100%, which I heard is near impossible cause the game is so huge.

I agree with you, I do, I'm hoping Skyrim won't be so much at once at the start. Hence why I'm going to wait.. My bro will get this on the day so will wait for his views.

I kind of agree with you and I kind of don't. Yes, there is lots to do and you can get sidetracked but the main quest line is always available and you can therefore mark it on your map. Surely it's not difficult in just following a compass point to the mission marker? That's all you need to do.

One big criticism of Oblivion was that the enemies level up with you. So it's quite possible (I should think though I've never been in that situation) for you to complete the story quest by level 10 or something.
