Tom Hardy has been cast as Bane (who once broke Batman's back in the comics) and Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selena Kyle aka Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.

Yeah just seen this on contact music website, will be interesting how Hardy plays Bane as I remember him as a big green monster in one of the old Batman films.
Anne Hathaway as Catwoman seems decent casting.
I'm guessing no Eddie Murphy as the riddler now lol_2.gif.

I'm not a fan of Anne Hathaway being cast as cat women, i think this is because I'm trying to imagine her portraying Michelle pfeiffer's cat woman which i know i shouldn't because the cat woman from the past will not be the same as the one where going to see in The dark knight rises.

I just personality think Anne Hathaway is little over rated.

Hows Bane different in the comics compared that horrible film?

I was kinda hoping the villains would be ones that haven't been in past films.

Anne Hathaway, what the fuck? I was never going to accept anyone but Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman, but Anne Hathaway? Srsly?

Still, it'll be interesting to see what they do with them.

EDIT: actually, I think Hathaway could work if they go for the whole shy nerd by day, filthy sexbeast by night vibe.

I thought Halle Berry's Catwoman was a lot better than Michelle Pfeiffers.

Although the film was shite, Berry was much more convincing (to me) as a conflicted character capable of really bad or really good behaviour and not caring either way. Much like your average cat , in fact.

He is the complete opposite actually.
He is very intelligent and one of Batsys most dangerous enemies.
He once managed to break his back after which Batman was paralyzed and had to give up his job (to a new Batman which then went a bit mental and had to be stopped by a miraculously recovered Bruce Wayne...)
He also shagged Talia, Rhas alGhu'ls daughter and Batmans (despite public believe) one true love.
Hey thinking of it, if it isn't confirmed that Anne plays Catwoman maybe she plays Talia?
Would close the circle.

I'm a bit.. hmm about Anne... I've only seen her in shite teeny, fashion, chick flick crap.. Not sure she can hold the gravitas, sexuality and mystique of Catwoman.

She was totally beige in that.

I was too distracted by the bumming cowboys. Not like she is Michelle Williams who was awesomes.

The Pfeiffer IS Catwoman.

There are certain people who define a role and she is one of them. It's like with Joker really.

^This.

Selina Kyle was a succesful woman before she was Catwoman.
Maybe this is Selina Kyle building up to Catwoman?

Nicholson personally. Everything just seemed to work.

Don't get me wrong, Ledger was great, but Nicholson defines that role for me.

After The Dark Knight and Inception I have total faith in Nolan to get it absolutely right.

Christian Bale - best batman. Great cast around him.

Tom Hardy, great up and coming actor with real precence who will be a match for Bale.

Hathaway is an interesting choice, she is growing as an actress and I think Nolan will get the best out of her.

Nolan produced one of the best movie villains of all time in Heath Ledger's Joker - certainly the best Batman baddie ever - so I have got no reason to think he won't do it again.

Thank God I'm not the only one who would prefer Michelle Pfeiffer being sewn back into the ol' vinyl. I'm just not fond of Hathaway, and to me, there is no way she's going to pull off the sexiness required for the role. Michelle NAILED it, and Halle Berry destroyed it.

Maybe Nolan can get something new out of her, but I haven't seen a sexual element from any of his work, and I'm sorry, but Inception doesn't get better with repeated viewings, same as Batman Begins. All very well-crafted, but the characters are so droll. I doubt he's the director to bring her into that frame of mind.

I do look forward to Tom Hardy as Bane, however. Would have preferred Hugo Strange, but Bane's good tool.
