As I have stated in my previous post I have just had a new Combo boiler installed, now I have a question about heating my home (wee flat)

I keep the temperature at 20deg C as my flat is well insulated, would it be better for me to keep my heating on all day at 20deg C and just let it continue or should I set the timer, I am just thinking about whether it would be better to keep the flat constant or whether it would be better to switch it off during working hours, I am unsure if it uses more gas to re-heat the home rather than to continue all day.
Just thought someone can tell me?

Finally are your bill a LOT cheaper or just cheaper, thanks a lot for replying bbuk

Maybe you could set the timer for on and off for the next few days (assuming you are at work), and try for heating it round the clock when you are in for a few days.

Do it for the same period and compare meter readings. smile.gif

I read somewhere that it is a myth - the idea that keeping the heating on all day works out cheaper than switching it on when needed. I am pretty sure it was on E-On's website or something. But to be fair you can't really beat Yorkshire's advice.

Oh I know. I am from that side of the Pennines myself... I just got a little lost. Off topic I know, but where is near Huddersfield?

It's just outside the centre.

Text me from the train station, and I'm there in moments. smile.gif
