Sorry, you've lost me. How is getting USB wifi going to make your Nintendo DS work online?

If the new router doesn't have wireless (which I assume to be the case) he's probably trying to use the USB wifi dongle (connected to a PC that is connected to the router by cable) as a wifi access point???

I'm really confused.

Who's your internet with/suppliers of the router?

I'm with sky and our router is fully wireless.

You need to search for your wirelessd as normal, it should find it, then select it and it pops up saying you need to use advance settings. Go to advance settings and do the process again. Enter your security key - on the base/back of your router and it should be fine. It's really quite simple. I hadn't set my DSi up for our new internet yet as I have just moved. Just set it up then and it took less than 2 minutes.

I think you mentioned the problem in an earlier post, craig. Your router will be using WPA/WPA2 and the games made for Nintendo DS only worth with WEP. I was never willing to lower the security on my router so the DS never got online.

I'm not sure how you would set up a USB dongle as a bridge as I've never tried it.

Yes, the laptop will have to be on. Your DS will connect to the USB dongle and the laptop will then act as a bridge by connecting to your wireless router.

Craig, it's not just plug in and off you go. You'll have to do a bit of Windows tinkering but I can't help as I've never tried it. Mikes knows, it's how he used to connect his Xbox.

I bridged the connections by plugging in my Xbox to my laptop and allowing them to "share" the internet connection being used by my laptop.

If you look on YouTube, searching for a "how to" for the dongle, and your specific problem and also include your operating system in the search, this should help you immensely. It's one of those things where, as much as we'd love to help you, specifics and the knowing what you need to do exactly are all down to what you have in terms of tech. So yes, youtube it.
