Dragon Age discussion (DA 3 news) Options

Oh I scrapped that cause I realized the only thing I did different was being a mage instead of a warrior, which doesn't really make a difference does it? So I went straight on playing DA2 now.
Allistair is still (single) King, Amaranthine is still destroyed (loved that that was referenced very early on) and my Warden survived the blight (leaving with Morrigan through the mirror).

DA2 is simplified a lot which is a bit of a shame but makes it easier too play inbetween. As I said my Hawke is incredibly hot and walks around shirtless all the time.
I'm just doing the Sebastian sidequest (hunky Irish men ) as usual I try to establish my whole party as soon as possible.
Where is Anders? I wanna start courting him.

Sebastian (though hot) is a religious nut bag who i never used and hated. I think you find Andres during some quest to do with a healer? I forget its been a while.
Meryl was the last party member i got.

So are you playing as a mage now? Does that mean you have Carver in your party instead of Bethany?

I don't like how big parts of the story are just skipped and told via story by the dwarf...Varrus is it? i also don't like how your cant customize your party's weapons and such.
Do you have any other of the DLC or is it just the Sebastian one?

I have all the DLC (well apart from the item packs).
The fact you can't properly equip your party is downright retarded, there is no other word for it. That's not streamlining that's making purposely less game to cut developing time.
I am indeed a mage and have Carver in my party. Yay!

I will also avenge the death of my templar mate who, despite me having to think a long hard time to remember where I've met him before when he gave me the mission and who's name escaped me right now was a great friend of mine.
Me and my team, which I like to call the Hot Hunks (Anders, Fenris & Sebastian) will invest, research, interrogate, have dirrty gay sex inbetween, remember our ex-member Carver who went to "serve" the Warden and eventual get to the bottom of this.

I'd say I'm in the middle of part 2. The mission ended though without the identity of the ripper being revealed so I assume there will be another mission soon.

Fenris?
No I like him, he doesn't get along with my love Anders but then again nobody does. They all complain about him whining too much. He is a good tank and his banter with Isabella is priceless. She so has the hots for him and talks really dirrty (Fenris that fisting thing you do? You know when you stick your hand into other people? You could make a lot of money with that )
Isabella is fun though she always tries to sleep with me, it's kinda my fault I always encourage her and then turn her down just when we're about to get to it. Muahahaha. I like her though cause she is game for everything, the others are so easy to offend.
The same goes for Varric. The bit where you play him solo and he has super powers going after his brother was awesome.
Carver I tried hard to get along with but he just disliked everything I did so I gave up on making an effort (same with Fenris actually). I liked him though, shame he left, the relationship with him and Hawke was interesting, I still have to do the legacy dlc though where he will be available as a companion again.
Aveline, I never cared much for her but yesterday I did a side quest where you have to help her get with on of her soldiers, that was so cute and sweet. I was a bit of a dick and always interfered by confessing my feelings for her, which she always ignored though. I like her now. I might go lesbian with her when I play as a female Hawke.
Sebastian HOT HOT HOT! That accent! I have a thing for archers anyway and his armour is uber cool.

She is so annoying and weak. I always use the aggressive option for her which cuts every conversation short. No time for losers like her.

Anders...awwww . So sensitive, so nice, so troubled and misunderstood. I just wanna hug and protect him form the world. He's my healer and the first character I got on full friendship. When can I shag him?

Yeah i agree with you about her. I remember when she first arrived i thought she was a pretty cool character, she was quirky and funny and a nice change of pace from douchebag Fenris.
But then as you do her missions i started to hate her with a passion, shes just stupid and annoying.

Aveline became my favorite character, i pretty much used her all the time. Its a shame she isn't a love interest, i may have gone lesbo with her.

As for Fenis, he was this versions Sten for me. I wanted to like him but nothing i did pleased him. Its because i was all team mage and he doesn't like that shit.
I hope he doesn't return in DA3.

So what happened to your Carver? Did you take him on to the deep roads. Seeing as i had Bethany I imagine something different would have happened.

I loved Sten, he was my favourite optional companion in Origins.

I took Carver to the Deep Roads where he got infected by the Darkspawn, thanks to Anders though he became a Warden instead of dying. Which is perfect I guess cause he wanted purpose in his life. I imagine him having a hot gay affair with my Warden at the HQ.
No wait my warden left Ferelden, I forgot. Oh well...
I checked if he is still a companion in Legacy and they actually built in that he became a Warden. That's so cool. Looking forward to play him as such.

Oh I ordered the Guide for the game, I usually wouldn't need it (am content with Dragon Age Wiki) but it was the Limited Edition and it was cheap. I'm gonna start again when it arrives.
I really rushed through the game and totally ignored my characters and they all are miss developed (e.g all my Mages have basically the same spells). I also ignored most armour and weapons cause you don't really seem to need to upgrade. I also wanna make more of an effort in regards to the relationships with my companions.
I remember doing the same when I first started Origins, guess I don't learn from my mistakes.
So yeah I stopped for now and am gonna pick it up again as soon as Amazon delivers.

I liked the Qunari as well. There should have been something you could do/say which made you not have to fight them. i didn't like that no matter what you did that outcome arrives.

I nearly spoilt the hawkes mother bit when you mentioned the kirkwall ripper I thought that was the bit you had just completed.
I don't remember if i was so shocked though, i don't think i had much of a connection to her. I think i kept wishing Flemeth was my mum.

Same here, I was like WTF, NO!!! - but then more and more Stens showed up and I got it.

Yeah I think you got much more attached to the Quinari because you talk to them a lot more than to the Vicant (Seamus was his son btw.).

I knew it was coming in the end because it was depicted in the Trailer, more or less accurate actually though I didn't stoop down to Blood Magic to defeat the Arashok in a duel mano a mano. (I just ran around the room and took a shot when ever he ran into a wall )

I did like Leandra and I think with Hawke's Sister gone, his second sibling also being able to die and now his mother they overdid it a bit. Too gloomy. Now Anders started wearing black and if that doesn't mean he turns evil and kicks the bucket in the end I don't know what does.
There just is no happyness for my Champion.
Even my loyal miners have been slain by some Dragon.
Like seriously does anyone I meet stay alive for 5 minutes?

As for my Relationship so far. I've been pursuing Anders obviously but before we got to it Fenris showed up at my mention (I may or may not have encouraged him) and the way he just grabbed me and told me to make him leave got me horny as hell so I did him (being prepared to reload afterwards) luckily he decided that he is unable to be in a relationship and left me the morning after (I pretended to be heartbroken...you know for the sake of it).
Given that this didn't spoil my romance with Anders I left it and Fenris offically became my Ex. Companions even comment about it. Love how Fenris wears a red band around his arm and my crest on his belt now. It's like I'm marking my conquests.
Fenris and Anders are right Divas, the later calls Fenris stupid for leaving me and the former implying Anders is just sloppy seconds.
If you decide to hand Fenris over to his old master (just to see how it goes, obviously I re-loaded) Anders even agrees in glee, what a total Bitch!
Seems like Fenris got the last laugh though given how weird Anders has become.

I still hate Meryll, especially now that she became so useless since her mirror plan fell through. She is the only character I have locked on rivalry, everybody else is locked on friendship apart from Fenris who needs just 5 more points to get there though. I even allowed him to kill his sister to make him like me (when I have actually been merciful to pretty much everyone, even the co-conspirator in my mothers murder case. I like letting murderers, thieves and rapists go free, they sent me nice letters how they turned their lifes around )
Carver obviously isn't on full friendship either but I still have the two downloads to work on that. Will get to those soon. I liked his little Cameo during the Quinari attack though.
Why can't Hawke just hug him and tell him he loves him? Why is it always so awkward between them?

I loved Isabella but I'm angry she is gone. If I thought her dirrty banter with Fenris was great then that was nothing compared to her constant bitch fight with Aveline (I mixed my party around more the second time, did you know Carver has a crush on Meryll? Ewww) Aveline constantly calling her a Whore made me laugh out loud every time.
Aveline btw. is married now. Awww

Probably gonna finish the game in the next couple of days and will then write an epic comment with my thoughts about it all. Brace yourself.

Thanks for the clip Mike, I've been looking for news on DA3 for a while now.
You gotta give them credit for taking on the (huge) amount of criticism they got and try to act on that.
Not all developers do that. They have a good sense of humour about it.
I think the compromise with the armour is well done.
Orlais then? They better get their act together. Orlais has always been described as very rich and fancy. I want that reflected in the design of it please and not some boring grey in grey all the same Kirkwall style.

P.S. That Hawke Mage Champion Armour is so uber-cool. Just about to piece it together.
