Is the original Dragon Age going to have a Game of the Year edition with all it's DLC included? I'd be tempted to have another crack at it if that happens ready for DA2

Lord only knows. Maybe towards Christmas (Fanksgiving for the Americans) in order to have a bonus item, dlc or whatever for DA2.

Yeah at launch, you know with that stone golem companion, some armour and whathaveyou. I mean a new release with all the DLC on like Return to Ostagar and The Awakening and stuff.

I have completed the game and all of the DLC. I have to say the DLC is really dissapointing - focusing on the weaker parts of the main game.

Buy Origins and Awakening, which are both fantastic.

Demo out today!!
(Tomorrow for PSN apparently)

I only played the first ten mins or so as I have yet to finished Origins and the cut scene was heading to spoilerville...

ALAS... the ten mins I did play was absolutely stunning. The combat is now refined, fun and action packed. The new visual style works really well....
I'm guessing this is going to become another hit and brilliant piece of art from BioWare.

Maybe we can start/finish Origins together, like we did Fragile. wink.gif

Actually, I just need to figure out my mods and I'm ready to go.
I'm having a bit of dificulty finding out what mods work best for romancing Alistair. The Equal Love one seems to be incompatible with many mods that add extra scenes with Alistair (such as Dialogue Tweaks).

I'll give this demo a try soon. I haven't completed a long epic game like this in a long while so it's time I maybe made an exception.

I never played the first one whatsoever despite Ic1male claiming that i might possibly have done on the previous page wink.gif

I'd like that very much but with Uni being so stressy I really can't start an epic game like this right now. sad.gif
You playing it on PC?
That means you can use the patch to make Allistair gay.
Arrghh I want too. mad.gif

I think I'll give the demo a miss so I can have a completely unsullied DA2 experience. I find demos for RPGs a bit odd.

I retain the right to cave in and download it at any point.

I just finished my first playthrough as a mage. I got the new DLC guy prince sebastian late hes pretty cute the cutest guy imo, but I think he only digs chicks sad.gif. My mage was a slut I dated screwed isabella, Anders, and tried to get it with the the bitter elf but hes hard to keep happy as a mage.

I like the combat system I guess its updated and kind of dumbed down you really dont need to do much with tactics like in previous games I have found.

I saw a review of it and it didn't look all that great to be honest. More like another add on rather than a sequel.
It's apparently really short and graphic wise not very spectacular and combat system is also critizised.
What to make of it? blink.gif

Well if I am being very critical, the story def is not as good as the first. And the thing I dislike perhaps the most is that all of your party has their own "homes" all over the city. So you miss that feeling of everyone coming together at the campsite. And keeping tabs on your relationships with everyone and the group feel of it. Plus the gifts are automatic this time you dont have to learn about each party member to know what kind of gifts they might like. You find or buy a gift and it automatically triggers the cutscene giving it to the right person next time you visit their "home".

So I didnt really feel like I knew some of them as well as I got to know my party in the first game. Then you have the combat system. Personally I like the graphical effects of spells and the fighting stances etc especially as a mage it "feel" like I am a badass and especially the effects of the autoattacks on the different staffs the lightining effects during fights were definetly more fun than the previous games and more intricate. That said its much easier fighting wise more button mashy, you really dont have to use that many tactics. I soloed the High Dragon after I accidentally let my party die. Granted i did my first playthrough in normal. But the final battle even I didnt feel like any of my party could possibly die. I just destroyed it all.

Storywise it is very dissconected, very much the "middle movie" of a trilogy fel too it. Most of it is told as a flashback scene as one of your party members is being Interrogated about something. And as the game progresses you find out what hes being interrogated about. By the end its all setup for some big battle apparently saved for the third game. So I did feel kind of letdown there. But, that said I had fun with it, and I will play again as a Warrior and try some different things especially since I missed most of the DLC stuff that playthrough since i got him near the end.

I'm waiting till the price goes down until i buy it....which is killing me as i really want it sad.gif
Ive played through Origins twice, its one of my favorite games of all time.

Ive read some of the reviews and most the games negativity is mostly focused on the changed combat system. I've played the demo and i personally think the change in combat has improved the game, its faster pased and i'm surprised people think they have made it easier as i thought it made the game much harder as so much was going on.

I doubt any of the characters will be able to compete with Alister or Morrigan so I'm not expecting much for them. As long as i care about the majority of them and there not all Stens and Zevrens, I'll be happy.

I hope Allister makes some kind of cameo.

EDIT kidfresh512 How long did it take you to complete the game?

I'm just about ready to start playing the first one to completion (had to sort out what mods to use for same sex romances).
I'll probably wait with this one till someone makes a same sex romance mod for Sebastian though.
Seriously, WTF Bioware. People with royal blood can be gay, you know.
What's the point of making all the love interests bi and then not doing the same with the one in the DLC.
Giving straight women a sense of entitlement?
Well I might break down and romance one of the other guys, but I'll still keep hoping for the a same sex Sebastion mod.
