Watched an independent horror last night, 'Backwoods Bloodbath' quite straight forward plot wise but had its moments.

I've had something of a 'horror' weekend. In order of superiority from best to last:
Shutter Island - without spoiling the whole thing, all I'll suggest is that you watch the whole film twice. It's easy enough to do as it is quite a good film.
The Girl Next Door - Based on a true story about the awful torture of a teenage girl in a house in Indiana in the '50's. The film is slow and the script dreadful, but some of the acting is quite good.
Crazies - Big budget remake of the old George A Romero film, this is as predictable as it is ridiculous, but has some fun gory set-pieces.
Acolytes - from the director of Wolf Creek, this is a serial killer / bully / revenge flick that tries to be 'arty' and fails on all levels. Attractive leads though!

2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams, quite possibly the worst film ever made.

Unfortunately not, 2001 Maniacs was a bit of mindless fun with Robert Englund, but this one was just dire nothing redeeming about it.

"Hymypoika" ("Young Gods") - Excellent coming of age drama from Finland which takes a dark and disturbing look at sexuality and technology in the 21st Century. If you like toned, blonde Scandinavian guys then Reino Nordin duely obliges by stripping off (often full frontal) 5 or 6 times.

I'm currently blasting through Planet Earth as that's what Lovefilm have sent me. So far it's been absolutely fantastic. It never fails to amaze me how the hell they get half of the footage they do.

"Flesh"/"Trash"/"Heat" - I've been aware of Joe Dallesandro for a long time but never really understood what all the fuss what about. I do now, lol. Given the experimental nature of the films they're actually surprisingly good, especially the first two.

"Unrelated" - A micro-budget independent British film about a recently-divorced middle-aged woman who makes friends with a family on holiday and develops a not entirely healthy relationship with the three teenaged sons. I can imagine its the sort of film that many would find slow and boring but there's an unexpected bonus in the shape of Tom Hiddleston, Henry Lloyd-Hughes (from "The Inbetweeners") and Harry Kershaw having a full frontal nude scene when they decide to jump into the pool naked thumbsup.gif

Watched Shutter Island last night.
Was enjoyable, a bit predictable, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Just watched I Love You, Beth Cooper.
Obviously not as good as the book, but I liked it, I'd watch it again.

I do but I thought it would be a well good title for a B-Class sex-horror flick.
