Sherlock Holmes-2009.

I really rather enjoyed it and look forward to the inevitable sequel!

Arrgh really wanna see that. So gutted I didn't see it at the movies.
I was first all excited but when I saw Sherlock all gun-crazy jumping around (didn't know it was a guy ritchie), it really put me off. Did regret it ever since sad.gif

DVD is your friend...

Waiting for the BlueRay to get cheaper smile.gif

Just watched A Prophet, which is aboslutely superb. My flat mate usually hates this sort of thing, but even he was raving about it.

I've also seen Argentine film Nine Queens (Nueve Reinas). And no, it;s not about 9 gay men. Basically, it's about con-men and their scams. 2 crooks try and dupe a stamp collector into buying a sheet of conterfeit stamps (the nine queens). Thought I'd hate it, but it was entertaining, if a bit complex.

City Island (2009)
A great film with Andy Garcia and Julianna Margulies. A fit half naked Steven Strait is also very easy on the eye...

"The Road" - Interesting and well made but very bleak post-apocalyptic drama.

"Phileine Zegt Sorry" - Quirky Dutch rom-com.

"Harte Jungs" - Crude and childish German comedy. Tobias Schenke is quite cute though.

"Michael Clayton" a very good low key thriller starring George Clooney, Tilda Swinton and Tom Wilkinson.

Thanks. I've got that one as well, as the DVD has both films on. Wasn't sure if I was going to bother with the sequel though as on many levels the original is quite bad really.

I did have an inkling wink.gif Mind you if Tobias wanders around naked like he does in the first one I might just suffer through it anyway, lol.

The Burning and My Bloody Valentine both 1981.
MBV is a far gorier (in the restored uncut version I've just watched) and more suspenseful film helped immensely by setting the movie in a mine for the last third of it.

Some good choices Sam Hain, love The Burning, but strangely prefer the remake of MBV.

Totally hooked on Twin Peaks Season 1.

"Krabat" - Very dark German fantasy with an all-star cast - David Kross (The Reader), Daniel Bruhl (Goodbye Lenin) and Robert Stadlober (Summer Storm).

"Crusade: March Through Time" - Watchable European (Dutch/German/Hungarian co-production with a largely British cast) fantasy adventure. Big bonus in the large amount of time the hot blonde lead actor (think a cuter, better actor version of Ed Speleers from "Eragon") spends unnecessarily shirtless wink.gif

"Jacquou Le Croquant" - Impressive French historical drama starring Gaspard Ulliel.

I've seen the Orphan the other day.
Despite the negative reviews I thought it was really good.
The kid is so evil and twisted it's a joy to watch her do her thing.
The end is predictable but that's to be expected with a horror flick.
The actress playing Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman) is nothing short but brilliant.
