Excellent news! this is shaping up to be Eastenders best year since 1986!!!


"EastEnders favourites Kat and Alfie Moon are to be reunited on screen later this year after the BBC confirmed today that Jessie Wallace is returning to the soap.

The 38-year-old - who was last seen as Walford's tart with a heart Kat Slater on Christmas Day 2005 - recently inked a new deal at the same time as co-star Shane Richie.

On Sunday, show bosses announced that Richie is to make a comeback as loveable rogue Alfie Moon. The news led to immediate speculation that his screen wife Wallace will also return as Kat Slater.

Of her decision to come back, Wallace said: "I've really enjoyed playing different roles over the last few years but am excited to slip back into Kat Slater's stilettos. I've missed her."

Richie commented: "More than anything I'm looking forward to getting my face covered in Kat's lipstick again!"

A Walford source told DS: "Alfie's return wouldn't be the same - or make sense - without Kat. They're a match made in heaven."

Richie and Wallace are due to return to filming later this year and will make their screen reappearance in the autumn."

They sure are getting a lot of old ones back in, aren't they?
I'm not too sure about all this. If they keep this up, either the cast will balloon to ridiculous numbers or they'll drop some of the characters that we have now.
Mind you, we already know Peggy and Bradley are going.

I hated them first time around. Although to be fair to them EE was crap back then and their story lines never helped. I will wait and see what they are like this time a round.

I loved Kat Slater (she will always be Slater to be!) and I did like her relationship with Alfie.

It will be interesting to see why they return.

i've been watching eastenders since 4 years old ... TRUE FAN! i hate when people say eastenders is crap it's televisions best soap, so happy tat alfie and kat are returning.....chris parker coming back though ....no thanks, he's one of eastenders worst casting mistakes.

I think Chris Parker did a good job, not a top nothch job though but Kat and Alfie are lengends and will still be watching it after 20 years of film!
