So lads, this is shaping up to be the next game we must all own this year. 4 player online (also 2 split screen) co-op RPG crossed with an FPS.

Not convinced by that awesome trailer? Quote from a recent interview with the developers, Gearbox:

QUOTE
What was most impressive about the demo was the game’s procedurally-generated content. Neumann explained that everything you kill in the game will drop loot, and there is somewhere between 600,000 and 1,000,000 randomly-generated weapons in the game. Moreover, the enemies are generated in the same way, as demonstrated when Brick and Lilith found themselves faced with a group of Mutant Midget Psychos. “Yes, the game has midgets,” said Neumann. “It makes me laugh, a lot.” One Midget may spit fire at you, while another may spit acid, or perhaps it will just set itself on fire and then run towards you.

I'm sold.

It's released on the 360/PS3/PC on the 23rd of October. thumbsup.gif

Oh heck. This autumn is shaping up to be another blockbuster gaming fest.

I wonder what the story is though. It reminds me of Crackdown. It's got the same sort of cel-shaded look.

EDIT: I discover it's something to do with your team of four landing on a mysterious alien world which has had a "gold rush" and you are looking for some alien vault.

FYI it's £32.99 to pre-order at Gameplay. Bargain! May as well pre-order it now since they'll honour the price if it ends up going up nearer launch...

Pretty much any game that offers 4 player co-op will arouse me. It's the promise of randomly generated midgets that has made me moist though.

Meh, no harm in pre-ordering anyway, if it's rubbish I can always cancel it.

Are you going to invest in Lost Planet 2, too? Granted it's not til Feb 2010 but it's got 4-player co-op. Did you ever play the first one?

Lost Planet 2 will be mine, for sure. I did play the first one but didn't really like the single player - the multiplayer was alright, a bit different to the usual.

In Lost Planet 2 there will be flying mech apparently biggrin.gif

LP was a bit meh if i'm honest. Hopefully co-op in the sequel will make it far superior.

Yes, definitely worth the £10.20. I'm totally shite at it still after clocking up 100+ hours.
